They say that the self of the individual of each created being, the permanent, single, and independent one, is controlled by the supreme self. Furthermore, since the powerful one has to rely on desire, it becomes not independent. The desire to create this and that arises from non-independence. If it were independent, there would be no need for the desire to create. Therefore, once there is desire, there will also be the desire to abandon one's own suffering and the desire to obtain happiness, thus it becomes not independent. If it were independent, it would have to happen simultaneously, but since it does not happen that way, it relies on the effort of wanting. Therefore, the creator, the powerful one, is impermanent from moment to moment, and is transformed by the guidance of time into being controlled by others, so it is not independent. For example, when many drops of water are completely dried up in their respective places, those waters will not gather into a stream of a river. Similarly, the creator is also a collection of many bodies and minds, and is also impermanent from moment to moment, having the nature of disintegration. As stated above, the characteristic of the self of the creator to be refuted, the permanent, single, and independent one, never exists. The summary of these meanings is: Other non-Buddhists say that the permanent, single, and independent creator who gives happiness and suffering to sentient beings is the supreme self, and they say that as the object to whom the supreme self gives happiness and suffering, each sentient being has a permanent, single, and independent self of the individual. Like this, the self as the creator is independent and permanent, such a self does not exist. Because it does not exist like this, the object to whom it gives happiness and suffering, the permanent, single, and independent self of the individual also does not exist. Because it is directly realized that it does not exist like this, the clinging to the self of the view of the aggregates arises from the realm of ignorance. Because ignorance is the nature of not knowing anything, the mind is extremely deluded and unclear, so although it does not cling to the existence of a self, due to the delusion of not understanding the absence of self, relying on ignorance and being accompanied by ignorance

When the mind thoroughly examines its own aggregates, it mistakenly believes that there is a self in them, and the innate view of the aggregates arises, clinging to "I." For example, for someone who fully understands the characteristics of an elephant, no matter what other animal is pointed out and said, "This is an elephant," it is impossible to have the illusion of mistaking it for an elephant. However, for someone who has never seen or understood an elephant before, if others point out an animal that is not an elephant and say, "This is an elephant," the illusion of thinking it is an elephant will arise. Similarly, from the view of the aggregates, afflictions such as desire and hatred arise. Because of relying on clinging to "I," desire arises from attachment to the self, and the idea of clinging to the self as different from others also arises, so hatred arises towards those others. The reason for saying "arises strongly" is that desire and hatred, etc., accompanied by the view of the aggregates, can completely initiate actions that can project rebirth.

Therefore, it is necessary to demonstrate reasoning. Those of inferior intellect are those with wrong views and those with doubt. Those with wrong views are those who conceive that the self of a person exists in what is without self. By completely refuting them with reasoning, it is possible to eliminate wrong conceptions. Those with doubt are those who hesitate, having two minds, wondering whether the self of a person exists or not. By showing them the reasoning that refutes the self of a person, it is possible to generate a definite understanding that the self of a person does not exist. For those of superior intellect, although it is not necessary to completely demonstrate the reasoning that proves no-self, it is even more excellent if reasoning is applied beforehand. These reasonings that prove the non-existence of the self of a person are also in accordance with the nature of reality. Although the subsequent intellect that ascertains no-self based on the reason that proves no-self is not the actual nature of reality, it is merely following the object of the nature of reality. Therefore, in the preliminary to the no-self of a person, first explaining impermanence, suffering, and emptiness is the extensive explanation. The author includes emptiness within the no-self of a person, not showing it separately, and only explaining impermanence and suffering is the intermediate explanation. Only explaining impermanence is the concise explanation. Although there are also cases of forcibly explaining the no-self of a person, it is very good if the no-self of a person is explained after first showing these preliminaries. Second, in explaining the actual reasoning, it is divided into establishing the root text and explaining its meaning again. The first part is divided into establishing the words of the sutras and establishing the treatises of the venerable Maitreya. First, the Blessed One, from the Glorious Praise, shows the no-self of a person in the manner of four pledges. That is, sentient beings fixate on the five aggregates, considering them to be "I" and fabricating them, but for the collection of the aggregates, there is absolutely no self of a person, this is the first pledge. The aggregates also do not exist in the self of a person, that is, for a self of a person that exists independently, the aggregates are not surrounding it in the manner of friends or retinue. The five aggregates of clinging, which are in a bad state, are also not the self of a person, because
