Moreover, it is not permanent either, and will eventually perish. Furthermore, the ability to defile the mindstream also arises from the power of impermanence. From a state of not being defiled before, as time passes moment by moment, the mindstream is newly covered with defilements. Afflictions arise, and actions completely impart habits to the mind. And the habit is only the first moment of leaving a habit, and has not yet begun to mature. It also completely disappears in an instant, and then moment by moment completely holds the stage of habit maturation. The moment of habit maturation completely disappears, and from this the result manifests. And it is not permanent either, and the result will eventually perish, thus causing fear and suffering. Therefore, all suffering arises from the reason of impermanence. Third, establishing the emptiness of the agent. In general, those who believe in an agent hold a non-corresponding cause as a cause. This is the afflicted consciousness of inverted clinging, and is the door to all faults. Furthermore, like believing that a sprout arises from permanence, holding a non-cause as a cause is an inverted consciousness. However, like admitting an agent, it is the door to the arising of all faults, just like that. The Samkhya heretics, completely explained by Kapila, although they do not admit the person of the agent, but explain it in the name of "chief," believing that matter, darkness, and power, which are equally combined, are permanent and are the agents of all the world. And some believe that the elements, time, letters, etc. are the agents. Although these people admit the agent, they do not admit the person of the agent. However, most other heretics believe that the person of the agent is called Ishvara, is permanent, and is the one who can control all things, believing that the vessel world and the happiness and suffering of sentient beings are all created by him. In this way, such an agent is perishing moment by moment and has no ability to abide independently. Therefore, because he is a sufferer, he is permanent as believed above.

Declining from power and dominion, because it is impermanent and unfree, hasn't the very thing you don't want befallen you? That is, taking the first moment of Īśvara as the cause, when the second moment of Īśvara arises as the result, the first moment of Īśvara is not permanent because it is destroyed without autonomy, and it is also without autonomy. So, do you not at all accept the agent of the three acts of doing, object, and action? It is not that we do not accept such a thing, but rather, it is impermanent and not solely autonomous, but we want an agent who has many other causal companions. For example, the agent potter, for the pot to be made, with thread, wheel, clay, etc. as the cause of accomplishing the pot, like that, we accept such an impermanent natured agent who is a companion of various causes and conditions. Therefore, the kind of agent that you non-Buddhists desire is permanent and has dominion, and is the only one, such a thing is generally impossible in knowables, but even if we assume that such a thing exists, it cannot act on any object, let alone exercise dominion over the entire world. Moreover, if the agent is permanent, then the sequential arising of these internal and external objects made by it is contradictory. For example, the sequential arising of the spring flower season, the summer rainy season, and the autumn fruit season made by the permanent agent is contradictory. If Īśvara is permanent, then the spring flower made by it must always remain, and they must all arise simultaneously and continuously, because that contradicts direct perception. There is no fault in this, even if Īśvara is permanent, it is produced sequentially by its will, for example, at that time mentioned earlier, that object is produced. If you say that it arises sequentially depending on the desire to produce that thing, then it contradicts that the agent is the only one, because the agent and the desire produced by it have arisen. There is also no fault in this, because Īśvara
