Nourishing the old, etc., helping each other, the seed nourishing and the consciousness continue to arise without interruption. As long as appearance and conceptualization have not dissolved into the realm of reality, then that and that appearance will arise, appearance will sow and nourish the seed, from seed nourishing appearance arises, etc., continuously arises. These are the ultimate means of abiding in relative truth. Therefore, understanding and recognizing the means of abiding in relative truth can also become the cause of dispelling coarse afflictions, because these afflictions and conceptualizations are mostly not the means of abiding in relative truth, but rather the conceptualizations of inappropriate attention that are confused and mistaken about it. The third is the suchness of no self-nature, which is only consciousness, although it has never existed from the beginning, but only appearance will not cease, like the knowledge of a dream. For example, in a dream, various appearances such as mountains, fields, houses, etc. arise, but those appearances have never existed, only the knowledge experienced by sleep temporarily exists. Similarly, various appearances such as form, sound, smell, taste, touch, etc. arise, but those appearances have never existed from the beginning, only the consciousness that is the basis for the appearance of those appearances exists as real. Moreover, as long as the cause of the delusion of dream appearance has not been exhausted, then the dream appearance will also arise continuously, when its cause, that is, the knowledge intoxicated by sleep awakens and is exhausted, the appearance will not arise, just as long as the cause of the arising of various appearances has not been exhausted, then that and that appearance will also arise continuously. Just as the various parts appearing on the consciousness are not true, the knowledge that appears those appearances is also non-existent and untrue, just as "if there is no object, there is no subject". The state of appearing in various ways but without self-nature is, for example, the fire in a dream has never existed, but it can burn firewood, existence and non-existence

It transcends all extremes of permanence and annihilation. The various appearances of dependent origination are merely appearances, thus transcending non-existence. Because it is not established by its own nature, it also transcends existence. Similarly, the appearances of dependent origination, with each preceding one ceasing and each succeeding one arising, possess the nature of impermanence, thus also transcending the extreme of permanence. Because appearances arise merely from causes and conditions, the gateway to arising is without cessation, thus also transcending the extreme of annihilation. Even the mere appearance of consciousness-only, the suchness that is shown to be without inherent existence, although not the actual ultimate truth, is considered one level of conventional truth merely by the manner of entering into it. That is, the mere fact that consciousness-only is without inherent existence is conventional truth, because it relies on conventional truth; and on the basis of the conventional, the characteristic of being without inherent existence is included. Consciousness-only and its lack of inherent existence are of the same essence. The way to enter into the ultimate truth is like this: the non-inherent existence of objects is merely a negation that eliminates reality, so although it cannot perform the function of entering into the ultimate truth, the wisdom that directly realizes it does cause entry into the ultimate truth. Consciousness-only's lack of inherent existence is both conventional truth and the antidote that eliminates conventionality. For example, if Lhajin kills himself, Lhajin is both the killer and the one killed. Thus, for these dependent originations, as explained above, the various appearances of cause and condition are established as the first level of conventional truth; the fact that it is selfless, impermanent, suffering, and empty of an agent other than itself is established as the second level of conventional truth; the negation that those appearances of dependent origination are not established as they appear as external objects, that is, the showing of mere consciousness-only, is the third level of conventional truth; and the showing that even mere consciousness-only is without inherent existence is the conventional truth.

被安立为四种次第。因此,《成所作智论》中也说了这些缘起甚深之理:非从我生,非从他生,非从二者生,非从无因生,非自性成立,非他性成立,非二者之自性成立。如是说。由无明的缘故而生起行,那也不是仅仅从无明自性中生起的,因为仅仅一个因不能生果;也不是从其他的物体中生起的,因为依赖于自己的因;也不是从二者中生起的;

It is established as four stages. Therefore, the Abhisamayalankara also speaks of the profound nature of these dependent originations: not from self, not from other, not from both, not from no cause, not established by self-nature, not established by other-nature, not established by the nature of both. Thus it is said. Because of ignorance, actions arise, but that is not only from the nature of ignorance alone, because a single cause cannot produce a result; nor does it arise from other objects, because it depends on its own cause; nor does it arise from both;
