Because of the place. That is, that of the east does not pervade the west, that of the west does not pervade the east, etc., because it has the limitation of the place; that of the past time does not pervade the unborn future, that of the future time does not pervade the extinction of the past, etc., because it does not go beyond time. Therefore, as it is said in the "Namasamgiti": "The one who pervades the three times and is timeless." Thus, the Dharmadhatu itself pervades all three times in the manner of Dharmata, and although it appears in the form of time, its own nature is separate from time, so it is indivisible, and for that very reason, it is also all-pervading of all Dharmas. It is also the pervader of all Dharmas, because the one Dharmata is the Dharmata of the pillar, and similarly the Dharmata of the pot, etc., because it is the Dharmata of all Dharmas, so it is established as the all-pervading goer, the pervader. That is, as it is said in the "Namasamgiti": "The indivisible, all-pervading goer, the pervader." Like that. The ultimate realm itself is also the Sugata, and it is also the essence of all Dharmas, therefore it is the Sugata-garbha; it itself is the Dharmata that is empty of the two selves, therefore it is the supreme self, as it is said in the "Ratnagotravibhāga": "The one who has attained the supreme self of no-self." It itself is the primordial wisdom, and it is also the nature of all things, therefore it is the reality; it itself is also the great Madhyamaka that is free from contradictions and faults. That is, all Dharmas are empty of their own nature, and the emptiness is only emptiness, so it does not have the meaning of union, it is the small Madhyamaka; but here it is empty of all the delusive Dharmas of samsara, and it is endowed with all Dharmas by the ultimate wisdom, this is the path of the great Madhyamaka of union. It itself is the Dharma of permanence, stability, and eternity, therefore it is also immutable. That is, it is not just immutable, but it is the Dharmata that is free from change, in all aspects. From this, the way the Dharma of the ground, path, and fruit appears is: not realizing the meaning of this Dharmata, being ignorant and confused about this Dharmata, from the ground time, the suddenly arising Dharmas of samsara appear; that is, from the kleshas comes karma, and from karma come the Dharmas of samsara, which appear from this Dharmata in a way that can be abandoned and is sudden. At the time of the path, the Dharmata has been present from the beginning.

And, such a way of realizing the conventional as adventitious is called the path. The way of realization is: at the time of the accumulation path, relying on hearing and thinking, one knows that the nature of reality exists in all forms, and that the phenomena of samsara are adventitious; at the time of the path of joining, one realizes it by obtaining various clear appearances of that nature of reality through the wisdom arising from meditation; at the time of the seeing path, one realizes it by directly seeing that nature of reality; and at the time of the path of meditation, one realizes it by familiarizing oneself with its lineage. The result is: when each is purified from defilements, that is, in general, when adventitious defilements are purified, it is established as obtaining the result. If its meaning is explained in detail, since the nature of reality has never been stained by adventitious defilements, the nature of reality is naturally pure. For example, although the orb of the sun is not stained by clouds, when the space directly above it is obscured by clouds, it is established that the sun is obscured by clouds. Although the naturally clear light of the mind is not stained by adventitious defilements, when sentient beings are obscured by adventitious defilements, it is nominally designated that the dharmadhatu is obscured by defilements. Therefore, when sentient beings each cultivate the path and their adventitious defilements are purified, it is nominally established as obtaining the result. But in the ultimate truth, because the dharmadhatu inherently possesses uncontaminated qualities such as power, and has never been stained by adventitious defilements such as arising and ceasing, it is free from what is to be obtained and the obtainer. Second, in the detailed explanation, the nature of Madhyamaka is determined, and the basis, path, and result are all summarized within the Madhyamaka of the way of abiding. The remaining meaning, briefly explaining the nature of the two truths, is that all conventional phenomena of existence appear to consciousness and are known as the nature of sound and conceptualization, so they are appearance and name. Because they are not established in the way of abiding, they are conventional and the object of consciousness. The wisdom of the ultimate dharmadhatu is devoid of the characteristics of elaboration, such as signs and conceptualization. This is not devoid of elaboration by newly arising through cultivating the path, but because elaboration has been pacified from the beginning, it is nirvana.
