It is for the sake of attaining the three accomplishments such as the supreme Bodhi fruit. Third, what is relied upon to enter? Is it that one enters arbitrarily without relying on the Buddha's teachings and treatises? It is not so. In general, one relies on all the Buddha's teachings, and all the teachings also expound the Great Other-Empty Madhyamaka. The first teachings were taught in an unclear manner, the intermediate teachings were taught in a slightly clearer manner, and the final teachings were taught in a clear manner without concealment. Therefore, it is acknowledged that the three turnings of the wheel do not contradict each other and are consistent. The meaning of saying that form exists in the first turning is intended for mere conventional dependent origination, and the meaning of saying that it is free from elaboration in the intermediate turning is intended for being free from all elaborations of signs. Therefore, the first and intermediate turnings also spoke of Other-Empty, but only spoke of it in an unclear manner. In the end, it was spoken of extensively like unfolding a Thangka. Therefore, in general, one relies on all the Buddha's teachings, especially the definitive meaning sutras such as the ten Heart Sutras, and among the treatises, the five treatises of the Ten Bhumi Empowerment composed by Maitreya, the Commentary on the View Desired Briefly Stated composed by Manjushri, and the special commentaries such as the Three Treatises on the Explanation of Other Minds, and the scriptures prophesied by the Buddha to distinguish between definitive and provisional meanings. As it is said in the Manjushri Root Tantra: "The monk named Asanga, is skilled in the meaning of that treatise, the sutras of definitive and provisional meaning, will thoroughly distinguish many kinds, the master who teaches worldly knowledge, will become one who writes treatises." Thus, one relies on the scriptures composed by the noble Asanga, who abides on the third ground, the Ground of Radiance, and the treatises of the master Vasubandhu, who is the crown ornament of all scholars. Moreover, one relies on what was said by the noble Nagarjuna and others, such as Chandragomin, Shantideva, Dignaga, Dharmakirti, and many other holy beings, who were prophesied by the Buddha to realize the wisdom of non-elaboration. It is not that one relies on others in India and Tibet who boast of being great charioteers and compose many treatises, or that others say that this person has created the tradition of the chariot, everywhere...

Some who claim to be wise sometimes fail to truly understand the definitive meaning due to a lack of discerning wisdom. Or, some may possess wisdom but lack merit, thus failing to comprehend properly and becoming confused about the definitive meaning. Alternatively, some may understand the definitive meaning but are deceitful, dishonest, and engage in hypocrisy. The words of treatises composed by such individuals should not be trusted and should be abandoned. Fourth, the benefits of entering this path are fivefold: one will be able to thoroughly understand the meaning of all the Buddha's teachings. The reason for this is that by relying on this great Shentong Madhyamaka, one will generate the wisdom to distinguish between the definitive and provisional meanings. With such wisdom, all the words and meanings of the scriptures will become non-contradictory and harmonious with the system of the two truths. Transcending the path of demons: By engaging in listening, contemplation, and meditation on any of the categories of Dharma taught by the Buddha, one can overcome the path of demons to varying degrees. What need is there to mention meditating on the supreme Dharma of Madhyamaka, the meaning of emptiness? Even by listening, contemplating, and so on, the path of demons cannot obstruct, and one can be liberated from it. Exhaustion of karmic obscurations: Even the heaviest karmic obscurations, such as the five heinous crimes, can be easily eliminated by meditating and contemplating on the meaning of emptiness and Shentong Madhyamaka. For example, King Ajatashatru killed his own father, King Bimbisara, and unleashed a fierce elephant upon the Tathagata, committing extremely grave sins. Later, he felt remorse, went to the Buddha, and through meditating on emptiness, attained forbearance of the unborn Dharma. The Buddha said that the forbearance of the unborn Dharma he attained was only a small forbearance of the unborn Dharma. Furthermore, similar accounts can be found in the Sutra on the Complete Purification of Karmic Obscurations and other scriptures. Therefore, meditating on the meaning of emptiness is a particularly effective method for purifying obscurations. The Uttaratantra states: "Even one who repeatedly relies on evil friends, harbors ill will towards the Buddha, kills parents and arhats, commits various inappropriate actions, and disrupts the harmony of the Sangha, can quickly be liberated from these if they truly contemplate the nature of reality." One will obtain immeasurable and excellent merit.
