The habits or sowing of the six places also afflict beings. The limb of consciousness is that, as it is sown, it leads to the place of birth, and it also afflicts. Consciousness has two types: the consciousness of cause and the consciousness of effect. The first is that action sows seeds on consciousness, the part of consciousness that changes. Therefore, if considered complete in the three times, just before entering the womb, it is the continuum of the consciousness of cause, and from this arises the consciousness of effect, entering the middle of the two, father's sperm and mother's blood, and leads to the place of birth. Thus, saying that it leads is actually showing the consciousness of effect. Similarly, consciousness due to the condition of action is also the consciousness of cause, because the consciousness of cause arises immediately after the action of action is done. The name and form due to the condition of consciousness also arise from the consciousness of effect, because the limb of name and form arises. Thus, from the consciousness of cause, the consciousness of effect arises, and from this, name and form arise. Therefore, it becomes twelve limbs of dependent origination, which is not reasonable. It is not so, because the two consciousnesses of cause and effect are the same in form, function, and lineage, so they are included in eleven limbs. The limb of name and form is that it holds all similar bodies, therefore it afflicts beings. The way to hold the same kind of body is that consciousness has already entered the middle of the two, sperm and blood, which is the initial establishment of the limb of name and form. This is the beginning of the body that the sentient being holds for the rest of his life. If there is no harm from obstacles, etc., during this period, all the bodies of that life are born from the same kind. The limb of the six sense sources is that it perfects the senses, therefore it afflicts beings. That is, after the five stages of the womb are completed, the senses of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are gradually perfected. The limb of touch is object, sense

From the aggregation of name and form, the six sense sources, and consciousness, beings are afflicted in order to sever the three: the agreeable, the disagreeable, and the neutral. The limb of feeling is that from the aggregation of object, faculty, and consciousness, after the contact that completely severs the object occurs, beings are made to suffer in order to closely experience the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and equanimity. Craving is what causes beings to be afflicted in order to gather future existences, that is, craving and clinging to the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and equanimity. Therefore, it gathers the existences that will arise in the future. The limb of grasping is what brings beings close to uniting in order to accomplish future existence, and it afflicts beings. The limb of existence is that, like grasping brings the accomplishment of future existence close to uniting, by doing the actions that become its cause, it causes beings to manifestly turn towards future existence, and it afflicts beings. The two limbs of birth and aging and death, because they are suffering, afflict beings. Although these two are spoken of together, birth is the suffering of dependence, because all other sufferings arise in dependence on taking birth. Aging, death, and lamentation, etc., the other aggregates of suffering are called the suffering of dependence, because they depend on birth. Thus, these eleven divisions show the nature of the twelve limbs that are complete in the three times. That is, just by way of example, someone's ignorance and its associates, motivated by the thought of considering oneself good, by the roots of virtue of non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-delusion, takes the vows of the eight-limbed moral discipline, and on the all-ground consciousness that is properly guarded, completely places the habit of becoming a human being. Having placed it in that way, the part of consciousness itself that completely transforms is the consciousness of the causal time. Thus, the limbs of ignorance, action, and consciousness are the first life, and the consciousness of the previous causal time lasts for a long time and other conditions.
