is complete, and they are mixed together. Ignorance and action, the two from the first life, are the projecting limbs, and the five, such as consciousness, mostly gathered by the intermediate state, are the projected limbs. Desire and grasping, which arise during the intermediate state, and the part of the intermediate state, and the existence limb, which arises between the connection of the third life, are the accomplishing limbs, and the birth and old age and death limbs, which arise from the third life, are said to be the accomplished limbs. Because the two are mixed and become non-dual, it is unreasonable. The reason for this is that the four, such as name and form, are not projecting limbs, because they are accomplished limbs. Because they are accomplished limbs, because they are not merely seeds, but have already manifested. To this, even if it is manifest, there is no fault of not being a projecting limb, if you say that, even if the definition of a projecting limb is not complete, if you say it is a projecting limb, it will be too extreme. Furthermore, ignorance and action are the projecting factors, and from this, the four, such as name and form, also arise as manifest, and the limb of old age and death has also arisen, therefore, one action caused by ignorance will lead to the ability to produce two different ripenings, which is too much. This is not allowed in any case, as it says in the Treasury: "Action is like a fruit with a husk, like medicine and flowers." Because this is explained with metaphors. The second way of dependent origination, the twelve limbs are completed in one cycle in the three lifetimes, which is said to be two cycles of cause and effect, is a mixture without the difference of projecting and diminishing. That is, ignorance and action are the two causes, and from this, the five limbs from consciousness to feeling arise, which is one cycle of the order of cause and effect. Again, from the two causes of craving and grasping, the results of existence and birth, old age and death arise, which is one cycle of the order of cause and effect. For this, it is said to be two cycles of the order of cause and effect. The necessity of saying this is to dispel the ignorance of beings about the past extreme, the ignorance about the future extreme, and the ignorance about the present extreme. Therefore, this establishment of dependent origination by the Bhagavan

The Sutra Pitaka speaks extensively about this. Regarding the method of dispelling the three kinds of ignorance, as stated in the Abhidharmakosha, "The beginning and the end each have two, and the middle has eight, all complete." As it is said. Ignorance and action are the beginning, the eight from consciousness to existence are the middle, and birth and death are the end. It is also possible for the twelve links of dependent origination to be completed in one lifetime. That is, the twelve links must be completed in order, without confusion. Some others believe that after ignorance comes craving and grasping, then action, then existence, then consciousness, then feeling, and so on. Because the order is reversed, it is contradictory for the order of the twelve links to be completed in one lifetime. This is not reasonable. Furthermore, are ignorance and craving/grasping, and action/existence, the same or different in nature? If they are different, then action arises from ignorance, and it contradicts the scriptures to say that craving arises from ignorance. Similarly, it is said that craving arises from grasping, but it contradicts the scriptures to say that action arises from grasping. It is said that consciousness arises from action, but it contradicts the scriptures to say that existence arises from action. If they are the same in nature, then ignorance, craving, and grasping become one link, and action and existence become one link, which leads to the fault of not completing the number of twelve links. The completion of the twelve links of dependent origination in one lifetime is determined by the fruition experienced in this very life. For example, a man generates a strong desire to obtain a female body, performs an action, and completely establishes the seed of being born there in consciousness. Furthermore, the seeds of the links of name and form, the six sense sources, contact, and feeling are also gradually and completely established. At some point, he develops craving for service, and with the grasping that motivates him to accomplish service, he sees these as a group of women, like the Sangha of Arhats.
