It is certain to appear. For example, among the afflictions, the view that holds morality and asceticism as supreme, as well as the view that holds views as supreme, and wrong views, are definitely only afflictions of imputation. However, other afflictions such as desire and hatred have both imputed and innate aspects. However, since these two do not have a difference in substance, the knowledge of individual ordinary beings cannot distinguish between them. Alternatively, if we differentiate that reason, we can differentiate between realization and non-realization, clarity and non-clarity, and two reasons of with signs and without signs. Realization is when knowledge realizes its own object, for example, like the eye consciousness that grasps form clearly realizing the form that is near. In the second case, the eye consciousness that grasps form does not realize the form that is far away. Clarity is the distinction between forms and so on appearing clearly, and the appearance of the sky and so on not being clear. Realization and clarity are reasons with signs, while non-realization and non-clarity are called reasons without signs. Furthermore, in reasons, there are five types of distinctions of five dharmas. The reason for the reason is like the generality of the object of the grasping mode that grasps "this is a vase," that is, the generality of the object to be grasped by the grasping mode. The reason for the name is the generality that appears in the mind, which is grasped by the grasping mode that grasps the sound generality of "vase." The reason for conceptual thought is like the generality of mind and mental factors. The reason for suchness is the imputation that is realized as the suchness of conceptual thought. The reason for correct knowledge is the generality of the grasping mode that grasps the path. The distinctions of names are said to be about forty in total, but here they are condensed into six. As the name of a thing, for example, the appearance of the sound generality of "vase." Similarly, the name of relation is like the appearance of the sound generality of "this vase is big," "this vase is small." The name of aggregation is like these gold vases, silver vases, and copper vases are all vases. Like this, the sound generality of many appearing as one.

Such is the general example. Different names, such as gold vase, silver vase, and copper vase, these names are different because their respective appearing sounds are different. Famous names and non-famous names refer to names that are famous or not famous in a certain place or time. For example, the word "Hasti" (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means "having a hand," and it is famous among elephants. However, even though cows also have hands, this name is not famous among cows. The classification of conceptual thought is infinite. That is, there are two types of conceptual thought: conceptual thought with signs and conceptual thought without signs. The former mainly refers to the consciousness of the desire realm and the conceptual thoughts arising from consciousness, as well as those from the first dhyana onwards. The latter is from the second dhyana up to the peak of existence, and the consciousness and mental events in states of fainting and sleep. For the latter, it is not that there are absolutely no signs, but rather that the word of negation is added to indicate their subtlety. Alternatively, conceptual thought can be divided into afflicted conceptual thought and non-afflicted conceptual thought. The former refers to the non-virtuous conceptual thoughts of the desire realm. The latter refers to the conceptual thoughts included in virtuous contaminated, neutral, and uncontaminated. Alternatively, conceptual thought can be divided into conceptual thought that engages with objects, conceptual thought of the seeker, and conceptual thought of individual discrimination. The former refers to the five sense consciousnesses and their associated consciousnesses, because they engage with their respective objects. The latter refers to afflicted mind and consciousness, thought and formations. The latter refers to consciousness and anything else arising from consciousness, which are conceptual thoughts that individually distinguish objects. Third, regarding the distinction between existence and non-existence: conceptual thought and correct knowledge are substantially existent, they are merely names and imputed existence. Although most reasons are imputed existence, the cognitive parts contained within the reasons are born as substantially existent. Suchness is neither substantially existent nor imputed existence, but rather exists as the ultimate truth. The latter, namely suchness and correct knowledge, suchness is the reality of ultimate truth, while correct knowledge is merely considered to be in accordance with the ultimate truth. Others, such as reasons, names, and conceptual thought, are established as existing in conventional truth. Fourth, regarding the distinction between one and different: are names and reasons one or different?
