since that is not the meaning of the reality. Therefore, the intended meaning will not be accomplished. Thus, the twenty-four conditioned dharmas and the one unconditioned dharma, the ultimate truth of dharmadhatu, in short, all the existing dharmas in the knowable are summarized as these twenty-five. These classifications of the twenty-five existences are explained according to the scriptural authorities of the Great Nirvana Sutra, the Great Drum Sutra, and the Sutra Requested by Glorious Garland. Therefore, the final definitive sutras are called the final sutras because they ultimately reveal the dharmadhatu clearly. That itself is also called the supreme dharma of the perfectly endowed dharma. In general, perfectly endowed means that the final turning of the wheel sutras fully reveals the reality of the ultimate dharmadhatu, so it is the perfectly endowed dharma, and the others only reveal a part of the dharmadhatu, and are called the three-endowed and two-endowed respectively. Or, from the perspective of the doctrine, the time when the Buddha was alive was perfectly endowed, because at that time this definitive dharma was mainly practiced, so it is said that way. In addition, the characteristics and classifications of the five faculties and the five objects, etc., are explained in various treatises such as the Abhidharma, and are known to all those who establish the classifications of schools, so there is no need to write them here, and even if they were written, they would become very complicated. Third, how are the dharmas of the fruit summarized in the twenty-five existences? In general, there are two kinds of fruit: ultimate and conventional. First, the ultimate is only the dharmadhatu. Second, the conventional includes the enjoyment body with five certainties, and the emanation bodies of craftsmanship, birth, and excellence, etc., because they are appearances to other beings to be tamed. From the appearance to others and the practice of the path, it seems that the continuum of afflictions has been cut off, and the part where new qualities are obtained is the truth of the path, so it is summarized as the dharma of the path. The ultimate Sugata-garbha is the real fruit and the real basis. Then, are the basis and the fruit not contradictory? No, because the dharmadhatu is the nature of dharma that is inseparable from the basis and the fruit. That itself is dharma and the nature of dharma, two.

That which is washed by the moon of wisdom is not mundane dharma but dharmata. However, when distinguishing between ground, path, and fruit, the dharmadhatu is not categorized as either ground or fruit, because it is the ultimate pervasive reality that pervades all dharmas of ground, path, and fruit. Second, the examination of the five bases of knowable objects is: the basis of appearance as form, the main basis of mind, the basis of formations that does not possess retinue mental factors, and similarly, the basis of the unconditioned, totaling five. Therefore, these five bases are considered to be the majority of objects to be known. First, the examination is that in this context of the Great Vehicle, external forms such as visible forms and sounds, which are objects to be grasped, are merely appearances of the mind and do not exist in reality. Therefore, the basis of appearance as form is not accepted as truly existent, and the object to which terms apply should be designated as the aspect of consciousness that appears as form. The latter, the non-existent, is merely a mental elimination, and the fourth, non-associated formations, are also not established as substances but are merely mentally imputed. These categories are commonly known in all systems, and are therefore merely common. However, the ultimate unconditioned is not included in the unconditioned among the five bases of knowable objects. Most proponents of both our own and other systems do not understand or realize this key point of not being included in the dharmadhatu. External tirthikas and some Shravaka schools believe that things are permanent, while our own Buddhist school designates non-things as the term "permanent." This is merely a term, because no distinction of permanent or impermanent arises in non-things. Therefore, merely that which is different from impermanence is designated as the term "permanent." Therefore, the permanent thing is actually the ultimate Tathagatagarbha. Third, the examination of the four truths is: The Victorious Teacher Buddha repeatedly taught the categories of the four truths in the sutras. Among them, the nature of each of the four truths is that, in general, all aggregates of appropriation are the truth of suffering, but the main cause of the truth of suffering is the existence of birth. The reason for this is that from birth arise death and the intermediate state, and all other sufferings arise from this.
