Because the Wealthy One (I) said that (they) are placed in seeing the truth of Yakshas and many Rakshasas. The basis of abiding is: the rule of the Hearers is to abide in any of the three realms; the rule of the Mahayana is that the manifestations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas exist in all beings. Avalokiteshvara went to hell, and many Bodhisattvas with the bodies of animals appear in rebirths, and the Dragon King Anavatapta is said to be a tenth-level Bodhisattva. Second, the basis of mind is: on the path of accumulation, hearing and thinking are the main things, so it depends on the desire mind; the path of application depends on the six dhyana grounds, and the path of seeing is also the same as the Dharma Supreme and the same ground; the path of meditation depends on the four dhyanas and the first three formless realms, and the path of no learning; in particular, paths like the rhinoceros depend on the fourth dhyana. In particular, in the rule of Mahayana, most Mahayana rely on the actual practice of dhyana, and it is said that from the Great Mahayana Path of Accumulation, one can obtain the samadhi of the Dharma stream. Second, regarding the path of reliance, there are four: nature, characteristic, classification, and definition. First, any virtue that is combined with skillful means and wisdom is the wisdom that turns into the entrance of liberation, which is the nature of the path. Second, the characteristic is: the three trainings that are motivated by the desire for enlightenment. Third, the classification is: the three paths of the three vehicles, the two paths of the mundane and the supramundane, the two paths of meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment, the two paths of learning and no learning, and in addition, there are the five paths of accumulation, application, seeing, meditation, and no learning, so there are many classifications. Fourth, the definition is: because it is the basis for going to the place of Nirvana, it is called the path. Second, the content of the text has two parts: the explanation of the path and the explanation of the fruit. First, the explanation of the path includes: explaining some of the views of the two Hearer schools as provisional meanings, determining the nature of the path, explaining the nine stains to be abandoned by the path, determining the antidotes to these stains, explaining the four continuums that purify the adventitious stains, and explaining the order of how to practice the path. The first is: the proponents of the Hinayana tenets with the wisdom of the three vehicles.

There is no difference in the types of realization, and it is considered that only the realization of the selflessness of persons is one. It is also considered that the mind streams of the two Hinayana Arhats are defiled by non-afflictive ignorance. Although there are eight types of individuals in the Hearer Vehicle who have entered the stream and abide in the fruit, it is considered that the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle and the Mahayana Vehicle do not have such eight types of individuals, etc., which contain many contradictions. Therefore, it cannot be accepted according to the literal meaning, and it is provisional meaning. If you wonder what contradictions there are in it, if you consider the realization of the three vehicles to be one, then you must also consider the abandonment to be one. Therefore, just as the mind stream of a Bodhisattva Arhat is not defiled by obscurations, the mind stream of a Hearer and Solitary Realizer Arhat must also be free from defilement by obscurations. Just as there are eight types of individuals, such as stream-enterers, established in the Hearer Vehicle through the method of abandoning afflictive obscurations, there should also be such individuals in the Bodhisattva Vehicle, because the antidote to the obscurations of these three, namely, the meditation on the selflessness of persons, is no different. If it is considered that the antidote to the darkness unknown even to Hearers and Solitary Realizers, namely, the wisdom that realizes the selflessness of persons, is realized without difference from a Bodhisattva, but if the darkness of ignorance is not abandoned, then the antidote will not be able to destroy what is to be abandoned, which would lead to the statement that even the sun cannot dispel darkness. This is not certain. If it is said that there is a difference in the aspect of means of the three vehicles, then although there is a difference in that aspect, the actual antidote to the object to be abandoned is not done by the aspect of means, because love and so on are not contradictory to delusion. It does not completely punish extreme faults. Because of this, it is harmful. Similarly, those harms also occur to the Prasangika Madhyamaka, because they consider the types of wisdom realization of the three vehicles to be one. As Taranatha said in the Ornament of Madhyamaka: "The Hearers abandon the three vehicles as one, and so the Prasangikas also follow them, because the realization of the two selflessnesses is the same." And so on. Moreover, the very fact that it is ultimately considered to be three vehicles is also provisional meaning, because in the definitive meaning, the ultimate vehicle is considered to be one. Furthermore, the collections of the Great and Small Vehicles have the same essential points of intention, especially the transitional vehicle.
