If all conditions are met, except for some cases, most conditions are met, so the transgression is serious. If the base, combination, and ultimate three conditions are all met, then various major and minor transgressions will definitely occur. Bhikshus and Shramaneras, i.e., renunciates, if they violate the four root vows and develop the intention to conceal and kill, cannot take vows again; if Shramaneras do not develop the intention to kill, it is said that they can take vows up to three times. It is said that one should not take vows more than this number of times, because it is feared that renunciates will become too extreme. For lay practitioners and Upavasathas, even if they develop the intention to conceal, it is said that they can take vows again. Even if they violate the vows many times, they can take them again. The benefits of keeping the Upavasatha vow with eight branches are: In this very life, one will be protected and saved by the gods who uphold the white dharma and the assembly of protectors. In particular, Indra and the Four Great Kings, etc., are very pleased with the white dharma, and these great gods who protect the Buddha's teachings travel around Jambudvipa at auspicious times, so they will be very pleased to protect those who abide correctly in the Upavasatha vow, and because they reside in those places for a long time, those places will also become auspicious and happy due to their power and glory, and inauspicious spirits will be scattered. In the intermediate stage, if one wishes to obtain the benefits of the next life, one will obtain a perfect body of a desire realm god. Moreover, due to great faith in the Three Jewels and repeatedly taking vows, even among the gods, one will be equal to the supreme Indra, and will be born in the heavens above the six desire realms. It is also possible to be reborn as a human due to the residue of karma. With the benefit of keeping the precepts of abiding in the ten virtues, wherever one is born, one will be long-lived, have a beautiful form, have great wealth, etc., and become perfect. The ultimate benefit is: whichever Bodhi one aims for, one will attain that Bodhi. In particular, if one keeps the Upavasatha vow according to the Mahayana tradition, it will not only become a cause for perfect Bodhi, but even if one takes the vow according to the Hinayana tradition, since one has taken refuge beforehand, one will aim for the perfect Buddha.

Therefore, one ultimately becomes part of the assembly that attains complete and perfect enlightenment as a Buddha. Following the teachings on faith, the teachings on mindfulness are explained, the first of the five points being: Strive to protect your mind with great mindfulness. The advice is given: Greed, deceit, cunning, attachment, and laziness, as well as manifest pride, desire, and hatred, along with lineage, appearance, learning, youth, and arrogance due to great power, regard them as enemies. One should protect the mind from the harm of the nine afflictions: Stinginess is the craving for one's existing possessions and not being able to give them away. Deceit is pretending to have qualities one does not possess, thus deceiving others. Cunning is hiding one's faults, thus deceiving others. Attachment is what is called "Lobha," which means not knowing satisfaction. It is craving and clinging to the great enjoyment of possessions without satisfaction. Laziness is sloth, being lazy when first entering the Dharma and not striving to complete it after entering. Manifest pride is being proud of qualities one does not possess. Desire is the desire of the three realms, especially the desire of the desire realm. Within that, there is attachment to one's own aggregates, attachment to places, and attachment to desirable objects. Among these, the basis for immediately generating all faults is attachment to desirable objects. Hatred is anger associated with harmful intent. Pride arises from having a high lineage, associated with thinking others are inferior and oneself is superior. Similarly, being conceited due to having a beautiful appearance, as well as learning and being in the prime of youth, and having a hardened heart due to great power, becoming very arrogant, all these are arrogance. These nine afflictions constantly harm oneself, so they are like enemies. Just as one guards against enemies and defeats them, these afflictions should not be kept in the mind. When they arise, they should be completely destroyed with antidotes, and regarded as enemies. To encourage mindfulness by understanding the benefits and drawbacks, the Buddha taught: Mindfulness is the place of nectar, and carelessness is the place of death. Therefore, to increase your virtuous Dharma,
