is to abide in. Right livelihood is to abandon wrong livelihood and live a life in accordance with the Dharma. In the case of an ordained person, it is like abiding in the twelve qualities of asceticism, such as begging for food and wearing robes made of rags. Right effort is diligence, mindfulness, and samadhi. These three noble path factors are similar to what is taught in the context of the seven factors of enlightenment. Here, the reason for saying "right" is that it is the path of the noble ones, which is not possessed by ordinary beings. The reason for determining the noble path factors as eight is because the Discrimination of the Middle and Extremes states: "Completely examining and enabling understanding, three cause others to have faith, the antidote to discordant factors is, the limb of the path is these eight." It means that there needs to be a view that can completely examine the meaning of reality with wisdom, and the meaning of reality needs to be understood and realized by others, which is accomplished through realization, and through speech, action, and livelihood, three cause others to have faith, and through effort, mindfulness, and samadhi, three act as antidotes to discordant factors. Gods and discipline and few possessions, wanting to show various things to others, the freedom of afflictions and near afflictions, are the antidotes to discordant factors. That is, self-realization is to realize the meaning of reality, and to show it to others with immaculate language and words, thereby causing them to have faith in having right view, abiding in comfortable behavior, thereby causing them to have faith in having discipline, and abiding in right livelihood, thereby causing them to have faith in few possessions. Therefore, speech, action, and livelihood are the limbs that cause others to have faith. Effort and diligence can destroy fundamental afflictions such as hatred. Mindfulness is the antidote to destroying near afflictions such as sinking and excitement in the state of equanimity. Samadhi is the antidote to destroying the obscurations of absorption that obstruct freedom, that is, it can counteract the absorptions that are obstructed by the attainment of the nine absorptions such as the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions, as well as the six supernormal powers such as magical powers, the ten pervasions, and the eight victories.

Having destroyed the obscurations with the antidote of samadhi, one obtains meditative absorption and formless attainments. By obtaining these, one gains mastery over miraculous powers and direct knowledge. These eightfold noble paths are the method for contemplating the four truths and the actual noble path, which is shown as: This birth is suffering, called craving. This is the great cause of its origin. Its cessation is the path of liberation. To obtain it, The eightfold noble path is that. Although all of the three realms of samsara are suffering, the main one is this birth. Although all actions and afflictions are the origin, the affliction that connects to birth is the attachment of joy called existence. Therefore, this is the cause of this suffering, the main one of all origins, becoming very vast. Thus, the power of the cessation of these three, action, affliction, and suffering, the mind itself, free from elaboration, is the truth of cessation of liberation. The path to obtain it is the eightfold noble path. Among them, the main path is right view. The remaining meaning is: Thus, in order to see these four noble truths, one should always strive. Even householders who possess splendor in their embrace can cross the river of afflictions with wisdom. One should contemplate the four truths with the meaning of selflessness as the main point, that is, the meaning of the sixteen aspects such as impermanence. And, having understood that these three realms of samsara are suffering, one should abandon the cause of suffering, that is, the origin of actions and afflictions, and obtain the wisdom of the end of all suffering, that is, the cessation. Therefore, one needs to learn the arising of the origin and the method of obtaining cessation, that is, the practice of the path. Thus, in order to see the meaning of the four noble truths directly, one must diligently strive from great effort to generate the noble path in the continuum. Upon obtaining the noble path, qualities will naturally increase. Thus, by contemplating the meaning of the four noble truths, one will directly realize it, that is, by renouncing from household life, abiding in discipline, being content with little desire, dwelling in solitude, and being without distraction.
