Initially, it turns to ashes, then it is scattered by the wind, and finally disappears. Since this is the case, even the extremely fragile human body will perish, let alone a strong body. Fourth, the arrival of impermanence cannot be prevented: Thus, all this is impermanent, selfless, without refuge, without protector, and without a place to dwell. Therefore, O King, in this pithless cycle of existence, may your mind generate the thought of renunciation. All compounded phenomena are impermanent and will perish. If someone thinks that the self and the agent, etc., are permanent, that is not the case. Because in the state of selflessness, everything will perish, there is no one to protect, no one to shelter and help, and no reliance to dwell upon. Samsara is like a pithless banana tree. O King of Men, you should generate a mind of renunciation from samsara. Explanation of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment: Explaining the difficulty of obtaining a human body, explaining the four perfections, and explaining the leisure of being free from the eight unfree states. The first is: Like a blind turtle's neck entering a yoke hole in a vast ocean, obtaining a human body from animals is even more difficult. O King, strive diligently to take the true meaning. In the vast and boundless ocean, there floats a yoke with a hole. In the depths of the ocean, there is a turtle that only raises its head above the water once every hundred years. The chance of its neck fitting into the yoke hole is very slim. However, obtaining a human body from beings in the lower realms, such as animals, is even more difficult. O King, you should also take the opportunity of obtaining a human body to diligently practice the Dharma and make it meaningful. Commentaries and many versions say "from one ocean," meaning that the yoke and the turtle are both located in the same ocean. Additional explanation: If someone uses a gold vessel decorated with jewels to sweep away filth, it is not as foolish as someone who is born as a human but commits evil deeds. The latter is truly foolish.

Moreover, being born as a human and obtaining a human body, but using it for sinful deeds, becomes the source of unbearable suffering, and is the most foolish. A vessel adorned with gold and a human body are both equally good supports, and sin and vomit are both equally worthy of contempt. Second, explaining the possession of four wheels: Dwelling in a conducive place, Relying on holy beings, I have good aspirations and have done good deeds in the past, You possess the four great wheels. Dwelling in a conducive place, relying on holy beings, having good aspirations fulfilled, and being accustomed to good deeds in the past are the four wheels of leisure and endowment. Furthermore, dwelling in a conducive place means dwelling in a place where there are no obstacles to practicing Dharma and where conducive conditions are complete. Relying on holy beings means respectfully relying on the holy beings who teach Dharma to oneself with pure body, speech, and mind. Having good aspirations fulfilled means that the good aspirations one has made to practice Dharma awaken and are fulfilled in this life. Being accustomed to good deeds in the past means having the habitual strength of having practiced good deeds in past lives. Because one possesses the four wheels of leisure and endowment, one will be able to practice Dharma. King, you possess these four great wheels, so strive to practice the holy Dharma. If you ask which of these four great wheels is the most important, relying on a virtuous friend is the most important, because if one possesses a virtuous friend, even if other good conditions are not complete, one will be able to practice Dharma to a great extent. If one does not have a virtuous friend, even if other good conditions are complete, it will be difficult to practice Dharma. Therefore, emphasizing the importance of relying on a virtuous friend: Relying on a virtuous friend, practicing celibacy, The Complete Conqueror said, therefore, Rely on holy beings, Relying on them, many attain peace. Celibacy means purity, which refers to liberation from afflictions and their seeds. The practice undertaken to attain liberation is celibacy, which is the path to liberation. Therefore, the Conqueror Buddha said that relying on a virtuous friend is the complete path to liberation, so one should rely on a virtuous friend. After relying on a virtuous friend, many have attained the peace of Nirvana.
