Elimination: It is in the path of seeing, therefore it is taught here. The meaning of the text is: All cycles represented by the human world, although ordinary people cannot realize with wisdom, but in fact, all contaminated cyclic dharmas are uneasy and painful, all compound things are impermanent, everything is selfless, and the five aggregates should know and realize that their nature is impure. The reason is that people who do not have mindfulness disturb their minds with four inverted views and become a huge source of various cyclic sufferings. The sutra says, "Form is not me," that is, I am not the same as form, do not possess form, I am not in form, and form is not in me. Similarly, the other four aggregates should also be realized as emptiness. The sutra says, "Form is not me or mine," that is, form and I are not the same entity, and form and I do not possess each other, just like people and their property are not related to each other. I do not depend on and exist in form like a resident, nor does form exist in me like a vine clinging to the land, that is, form is not born from me. Similarly, the same should be applied to feeling, thought, and volition. Consciousness does not reside in my body, consciousness is not related to me, there is no me in consciousness, and there is no consciousness in me. You should realize that the five aggregates are empty and selfless. Here is a brief conclusion of the general meaning: It is divided into the identification of the self-grasping to be abandoned and the explanation of the wisdom of realizing selflessness that can be abandoned. First, regarding the former, it is divided into entity, difference, classification, etc. First, the entity is: the consciousness that takes the five aggregates as objects and clings to me as self. Second, the difference is: clinging to the self as the nature of permanence, oneness, and independence. For example, clinging to the constant appearance of "I did these things in the past, and I will do those things in the future"; clinging to the unique nature of "Only I am the most important, and only I can be liberated from fear" that is not mixed with others; and clinging to fabricated things.

Grasping at the state of a self that is self-sufficient is grasping at something independent. The divisions are: from grasping at the form aggregate as self, to grasping at the consciousness aggregate as self, these five are the actual self-grasping. Similarly, applying the distinctions of the five aggregates, the five such as form possessing self, the five such as self existing in form, the five such as self existing in form, these fifteen are grasping at self as belonging to self, totaling twenty views of the perishable. Secondly, the wisdom that realizes selflessness, which dispels clinging, is: understanding that things are selfless as they are inherently selfless. How is it that things are truly selfless? The Root Wisdom of the Middle Way says: If the aggregates were the self, they would be subject to arising and ceasing. If (the self) were other than the aggregates, it would lack the characteristics of the aggregates. The meaning of this is that the collections of consciousnesses such as the eye, and mental factors such as virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral thoughts, do not know as self, do not appear, and do not grasp. Only the mind that views as self knows, appears, and grasps. If the self certainly exists, it must exist in accordance with the logic of the mind that grasps at self. However, the five aggregates of appropriation are impermanent and have the nature of arising and ceasing. If the aggregates were the self, then the self would have to have the nature of arising and ceasing. This is inconsistent with the view of the mind that grasps at self as permanent, therefore the aggregates are not the self. The self is not something different from the aggregates, and the aggregates are not suffering. If the aggregates were suffering, then I would be suffering. When the eye sees a form, saying I see a form, if one focuses on the aggregates, then the way of grasping at self exists, which can be proven by direct experience. Therefore, something that is different from the aggregates is certainly not the self. Furthermore, if each aggregate were the self, then the self would become multiple. The distinction that one aggregate is the self and the others are not is also unreasonable, and this reasoning should be extended to the level of atoms. In general, the totality of the aggregates is also not the self, because a totality that is different from each individual cannot be established. If it is not the aggregates, then the self would become non-existent, and if it is non-existent, then the non-existent would not have an agent and various
