Named after... In any place, if one has previously accumulated virtuous deeds, but later regrets and turns away from them, disrespecting and cursing that place, thereby creating non-virtuous actions, then the previous happiness of virtue will be destroyed. Similarly, sinful actions that are not like that cannot destroy virtue. Those who possess qualities, whether noble beings or ordinary individuals, possess discipline, are learned, and possess correct samadhi. At the same time, it also implies the fields of benefit and the fields of suffering. In a perfect place, whatever virtuous or non-virtuous actions are accumulated will become powerful. Some people translate "primarily possessing" as "possessing loving-kindness" and explain it, which is inappropriate. The main meaning is the object of prostration and respect, such as teachers and parents. According to one's own view, the Indian text says "Upakara," which means "to do very much" or "to do especially," and it can also be explained as doing repeatedly. However, in the case of "constant," it has been said before that here it refers to using a lot, that is, killing many lives with one thought and action, or giving many things with one thought and action, etc., whether it is good or bad, it is essentially a lot of use, which is the main use. Because the word "great" is generally considered to mean "main," like "King of Mountains." The basis for the occurrence of good and evil possessing power, or the cause of arising, is called the "foundation." The five types of virtue and non-virtue from the constant foundation to the foundation possessing the main, because of possessing great power, one should strive to abandon non-virtue and diligently practice virtue. Supplementary note, even if virtuous actions are diligently made strong, but if they are mixed with non-virtue, they cannot become completely pure, if you think so, then, a little salt can change the taste of water, but it cannot change the taste of the Ganges. Similarly, even small sinful actions, know that the foundation of virtue is vast. A little two or three ounces of salt can change the taste of a little water, but it cannot change the taste of the Ganges, and the salt itself will disappear without a trace. Similarly, small sinful actions towards the good

Having established a vast and extensive foundation with great power, it will not be harmed. The virtuous deeds endowed with the power of merit will destroy small sins, rendering them fruitless. Please understand it in this way. The fourth point is the instruction on abandoning the five obscurations: agitation and regret, malice and torpor, sleep and desire, and doubt. These five obscurations are like thieves who steal the wealth of virtue. Please recognize this. Agitation is: In the Abhidharma, in the chapter on the twenty secondary defilements, it is explained as the distinction of conceptual thought that is attached to desirable qualities. But here, it refers to the wandering of conceptual thought towards objects of the three times, not preventing distraction and accepting it. Regret is: Regret for virtuous and neutral actions is definitely an obscuration. Regret for sins is not an obscuration in all cases, because it is necessary for confessing sins and can sometimes transform into virtuous qualities. However, during meditative absorption, even if regret for sins arises, it distracts the mind and becomes an obstacle to meditation, so it is an obscuration. Malice is the intention to torment sentient beings in every way. Torpor is when the object is unclear and the mind sinks into a thick dullness. Sleep is easy to understand. Desire is attachment to desires and wanting to obtain them. Doubt is: In general, all doubt is an obstacle to meditation. In particular, doubting the object of focus, in that way there are seven types. But agitation and regret are similar in nature, so they are combined into one. Sleep and torpor are combined into one, so there are five obscurations. These obstruct the three trainings: malice and desire obstruct the training of discipline; agitation, regret, sleep, and torpor obstruct the training of meditative concentration; doubt obstructs the training of wisdom. These five obscurations are like thieves who steal the wealth of abundant merit. Recognize this and strive to abandon them. There are endless types of obscurations, among which are the five obscurations.
