Completely pure and incompletely pure. Among them, completely pure is the nature of conceptualization, free from all characteristics. Incompletely pure is the form with characteristics, namely color and shape. Therefore, the two forms of deities can accomplish two needs. The form with characteristics is for the need with characteristics, and the form without characteristics can also arise the accomplishment with no characteristics. Thus it is said. Second, in the examination of practice, there are two types: with characteristics and without characteristics. The first is to abide in the yoga of the three characteristics of the deity's letter form and recite, such as the practice with limbs as described above. The second is the yoga without characteristics, which is to ascertain the meaning of emptiness and then meditate on the meaning examined by reason, which is the entering mind. And meditating on the realm of non-conceptualization is the abiding mind. Thus, cultivating great compassion for sentient beings who have not realized is the rising mind, which is the samadhi of the union of calm and insight. Third, in the conduct of accomplishment, there are two types: common and supreme. The first is to hold the knowledge of substances and so on, and to hold the knowledge of desire and form realms, and to accomplish magical powers and direct perception through the distinction of samadhi, and so on. These also exist in three ways: accomplished in this life, accomplished in the intermediate state, and accomplished through rebirths. The second, the supreme, is to diligently practice the ten perfections and the four ways of gathering, which are the methods to accomplish the four bodies and the five wisdoms. Fourth, in the classification of the path to be traversed, there are two paths: worldly and transcendental. The first is the eight root minds, such as the seed-like mind and the sprout-like mind, and the one hundred and sixty worldly minds, such as the mind with desire and the mind without desire, which are the path of higher realms. The second is the transcendental path, which is to meditate on the meaning of the selflessness of the person, which is the path to enter into definite goodness. Through these paths, the common path of seeing of the Hearers is manifested, and it is said that it takes one great kalpa up to this point. After that are the eight fruits of the Hearers, such as the stream-enterer.

Gradually generating common realizations in the continuum, this also takes half a great kalpa. Then, entering into practice with the uncommon faith of the Mahayana, this faith practice belongs to the accumulation path, and this also takes half a great kalpa. Then, entering the path of joining the ten grounds of faith practice, as it is said: "The ground of faith practice, all three minds are cultivated, the six perfections and the four means of gathering, the ground of faith is unequaled." Thus, the ten grounds of the path of joining, in order, are the practice of the six perfections, and the stages of gradually learning the four means of gathering. Thus, the ten grounds of faith practice take half a great kalpa, and then, directly realizing the uncommon view of the Mahayana, traversing the ten noble grounds with half a great kalpa, finally relying on the gate of the five-syllable mantra of A(ཨ,A,无), Khaṃ(ཁཾ,Khaṃ,空), Vi(ཝི,Vi,离), Ra(ར,Ra,尘), Hūṃ(ཧཱུྃ,Hūṃ,可怖), directly realizing perfect enlightenment. The establishment of the result should be known to be the same as the common aspects of the Mahayana. Thus, the teacher's continuum abides in three natures: the inexhaustible body, the wheel of adornment; the inexhaustible speech, the wheel of adornment; the categories of the inexhaustible mind, the wheel of adornment, are the three continuums of the teacher. First, the root tantra, the Manifestation of Enlightenment, and the Immovable Fierce One, and so on; second, the speech tantra is said not to have been translated into Tibetan; third, the Vajrapani empowerment tantra, and so on. The path sequence of the third yoga tantra has four establishments: the entrance empowerment, the samaya to be protected, the manifestation to be meditated upon, and the path to be traversed. First, as it is said: "The irreversible empowerment is clearly explained in the yoga tantra, that is the distinction of six, that is called the Acharya empowerment." Thus, where is the mandala for the empowerment? For the purpose of subduing those who equally use the five poisons, it is the Tathagata family, the mandala of Vajrasattva; for the purpose of subduing the angry ones, it is the wrathful mandala; for the purpose of subduing the ignorant ones,

In order to subdue the miserly and the jealous, (one needs) the mandala of Ratnasambhava (the Jewel-born Buddha). As it is said: 'The beautiful Vajrasattva himself.' And 'Those with vajras on their crowns are all wrathful and frowning, the assembly of jewels is extremely pleased, the great lotus is gentle and peaceful, holding from the fierce and peaceful,' and 'Those of green color hold.' etc. Here, Amoghasiddhi (Unfailing Accomplishment Buddha) is included within Ratnasambhava. Each of them has the root mandala of the great mudra of the body, the dharma mandala of the mudra of speech, the dharani mandala of the mudra of mind vow, and the karma mandala of the mudra of action of activity. And, for each of them, for the purpose of those who like the extensive, (it is said) the extensive mandala; for the purpose of those who like the intermediate, (it is said) the four-mudra mandala; for the purpose of those who like the concise, (it is said) the two-mudra mandala. The ritual for empowerment in those mandalas is, in the commentary on the Yeshe Thigle (Drop of Wisdom): 'That is the sixfold distinction of empowerment.' Saying that on top of the five, such as water, adding the guru's empowerment, making it six, is unreasonable. Because the guru's empowerment itself must be complete with six. In the Yeshe Thigle itself it says: 'It exists in the distinction of seven twos.' From water to the fourth empowerment, fourteen empowerments are spoken of. In the Chagchen Thigle (Great Seal Drop) it also says: 'The guru's empowerment is divided into eleven.' And in the Vajramala (Vajra Garland) it also says: 'The first empowerment is the main deity, the second is the name of secret, the third is complete union, the nature of the fourth is the ultimate truth. There are eleven distinctions of the main deity, the twelfth is secret, the thirteenth is true union, the fourteenth is the ultimate truth, each empowerment is in a different place.' Thus it is said, therefore there are water, crown, vajra, bell, name, these five common empowerments, and giving the samaya, the irreversible empowerment, and speaking of the three suchness, the secret empowerment, permission, prophecy, opening, praise, these four, these six uncommon empowerments. Or, again, in the Yeshe Thigle it says: 'Water and headdress vajra, bell name and asceticism, prophecy and giving refuge, and mantra.'
