Thus, it is taught up to wisdom. To transform from generosity to wisdom into paramitas, it is necessary to have four distinctions. These are the decline of miserliness, which is the opposite of generosity. As it is said, "Generosity, the object of generosity, the receiver, and the giver are empty." The three circles of generosity are grasped by non-discriminating wisdom. By giving wealth and Dharma, all desires are completely fulfilled. By gathering beings with wealth, etc., the continuum is matured, hence it is a connection. Thus, the mind of giving that possesses the four qualities is the perfection of generosity. Similarly, the decline of the opposites of ethics, such as moral corruption, the opposites of patience, such as anger, laziness, etc., the opposites of diligence, distraction, etc., the opposites of meditation, and wrong knowledge, etc., the opposites of wisdom. The three circles of each are grasped by non-discriminating wisdom. With perfect ethics, with immeasurable joy, etc., with patience enduring harm from others, etc., with diligence helping others, with meditation, the five supernormal powers, etc., with wisdom distinguishing between what should be taken and abandoned and what is not, fulfilling the desires of others. And all of these also fulfill desires and then teach the Dharma, so the first five mature the continuum, and the sixth connects and matures it. Thus, possessing four qualities each, the mind of abandoning is ethics, non-disturbance is patience, joy is diligence, focus is meditation, and the mind of excellent distinction is wisdom. Second, the divisions are: generosity has material generosity, fearlessness generosity, and Dharma generosity. Material generosity has giving, extreme giving, and great giving. Ethics has the ethics of abstaining from misconduct, the ethics of gathering virtue, and the ethics of benefiting sentient beings. The first of the three has seven types of individual liberation vows. Patience has the patience of accepting suffering, not minding harm, and the patience of certainty in the Dharma. Diligence has armored diligence,

Diligence. Irreversible diligence. In terms of meditation, it is the meditation of dwelling happily in the present moment, the meditation of accomplishing merits, and the meditation of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. In terms of wisdom, it is the wisdom that focuses on the conventional, the wisdom that focuses on the ultimate, and the wisdom that focuses on sentient beings. Third, the essence is: giving without expecting reward or fruition, keeping precepts without craving rebirth, patience without resentment towards sentient beings, diligence that naturally rejoices in all virtuous dharmas, meditation that excludes formless attainments, and wisdom inseparable from skillful means and great compassion. All of these also possess the excellent basis of bodhicitta, are impartial without favoring objects such as generosity, are practiced for the sake of excellent other-benefit, are held by the wisdom of the excellent means of non-conceptualizing the three spheres, the excellent dedication is dedicated to the great bodhi without impurity, and the excellent purification is practiced as the actual antidote to the two obscurations, and are practiced with the six excellences. Fourth, why are there six perfections? All the dharmas of a bodhisattva are, in short, the three trainings. Among them, by giving, attachment to all enjoyments is severed, thereby making the precepts complete. Regarding precepts, even if anger arises, it does not arise again, etc., possessing the four dharmas that can make one a virtuous person, which is patience. Thus, the first three are the essence of higher training in discipline. Meditation is higher training in concentration, wisdom is higher training in wisdom, and diligence becomes a companion to all, therefore the number is definite. Fifth, the order is: because the latter arises from the former, and the latter is more excellent than the former, it is taught that the former is coarse and the latter is subtle. As it is said: If the former is not taught, the latter does not arise, because it is situated in inferiority and superiority, because of coarseness and subtlety, these are taught in order. Sixth, the meaning of the words or the explanation is: The Lord said: To abandon poverty and, to obtain coolness and to endure anger, to combine excellence and to hold, it is said in order to know the ultimate meaning.
