He bestowed the transmission of empowerment methods. Furthermore, he granted subsequent necessary empowerments and so forth, conducting them in an extremely pure manner. In addition, he bestowed many extra empowerment oral transmissions, as well as the transmission of the 'Holy Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra,' and then set out towards the east. Before long, he bestowed golden objects. Thereafter, on an auspicious day with the conjunction of the sun, fire, and four, next to the monastery of the great hermitage Jonang, he newly appointed the head of the monastery, Dharma Lord Kunsang Gyalpo. He summoned skilled craftsmen such as stonemasons and carpenters, and ordered that the monastery be made more spacious and taller than before. Soon after, a assembly hall with thirty large pillars was built, along with a well-equipped storage room for timber and other materials. Upon completion, he generously rewarded the craftsmen as compensation. Subsequently, the two incarnations, Lobsangpa and Lhundrubpa, from the presence of Tulku Smanthangpa, along with attendants Rejong Sodpalwa and Narthangpa Tsering Phel, and twenty learned masters and disciples, arrived together. After inspecting the monastery, they said, "The monastery is magnificent, and the wooden structure is well-arranged. It seems that a lot of paint is needed. The Rinbung estate has offered a large amount of indigo, which is sufficient, but a large amount of vermilion and red lead is also needed." Then (the master) said, "There will be no problem with that." To eliminate obstacles, (the master) bestowed upon them, the master and disciples, longevity empowerment, as well as some peaceful, increasing, powerful, and wrathful empowerments. After the sketches were completed, the great monastic community of Shelgar offered many refreshments and tea, and offered general offerings before the master, and it is said that they also specially offered murals. A good piece of vermilion was offered, and some was left over. The wood lacquer murals were all brightly colored, and on the surface of the gold-plated and exquisitely patterned paintings, the All-Knowing Great One, with the King of Sages as the main deity, as well as the eleven incarnations of the Supreme All-Knowing One, the complete Kalachakra deity, the Dharma King lineage holder, the Six Yogas lineage holder, and some desire deities, were painted smoothly and completed quickly, as if they were naturally appearing. Over four months passed, and there was not even the slightest sign of obstacles, and it was finally completed perfectly. The craftsmen also said that it was all accomplished through the compassion and blessings of your Holiness. Utterly

Because Napo Rinpoche was strongly requested to go in person, he quickly completed the remaining part of the retreat and left after six days. On the way, he met a messenger who brought news of the passing of his nephew, Trung Rinpoche Ani, and he quickly went to Smon gro. He ordered that the funeral should be held on a large scale, and made offerings and invitations to the reincarnation of the Supreme One, and to Rinpoche Dorje Ringpa, who was residing in Yar 'brog. He also made offerings to all the lamas who had a Dharma connection, such as the Taklung Dharma Lord. He offered large quantities of khatas and butter lamps at Chos lung byang rtse, and in Smon gro itself, the monks, including the students of Chos lung, Shug khro, Gonpa Karpo ba, Jo nang sgrub sde rags pa, and the golden Phutuk, performed many mandala rituals and prayers with over three hundred monks. Rinpoche himself, with a small group of attendants, performed the rituals of Yogini and Akshobhya. Finally, in the center of all the assembled monks, he made extensive dedications and auspicious prayers. He distributed tea offerings and offerings to the Sangha to most of the monasteries in Jangkhok, such as Ngam ring chos sde, bZang ldan, and Jo nang, as well as Ngor gser mdog can. He offered immeasurable offerings such as khatas, butter lamps, and cloth, and ordered them to be distributed everywhere, and then went to Jo nang. He had the Cham dances of the Protector Deities, brother and sister, and the masks of all the attendants made. He consecrated them, making them powerful objects in which the wisdom deities would surely reside. At that time, the elders of Jo nang said that they would make a statue of Rinpoche himself held in the hand. The materials for the statue were made from a mixture of silk, six precious medicines, and various precious powders. Inside, it was filled with countless sacred objects such as supports of body, speech, and mind, dharani mantras, and relics. After the statue was completed, a grand consecration ceremony was held, and it was enshrined in the assembly hall. In the Horse year (presumably 1678), while Rinpoche was in strict retreat, in the summer, a maid of the local leader of Samdrubtse (bsam 'grub rtse) ran away and came here. After that, Kunpang Trungku (kun spangs drung sku mched) also quickly came to Shangdi (myur shangs). The local leader Rinpoche strongly requested to be tonsured, but due to the retreat, he did not meet with anyone, but through issuing orders, he performed the empowerment in an agreeable manner.
