The earth (is) in the purified throat, in the center of the lotus at the root of the throat. From there to the heart, navel, and secret place, it changes according to the order of the suns possessed by the lord of men (referring to the Buddha). Thus it is said. Here, sun refers to twelve, its own refers to twenty-five, Manu refers to fourteen, king refers to sixteen, space-eye refers to twenty, time and nine refers to ninety-six, Veda and water-treasury refer to four, one should know these names. The meaning of the lord of the conquerors, etc., is that the center of the urna hair refers to the lower end of the ground of the urna hair, that is, from the crown of the head to the end of the urna hair, then to the end of the throat, then to the end of the heart, then to the space between the secret wheels, each of which is twelve with half a finger added, that is, thirteen and a half fingers each. The soles of the feet are fourteen fingers, this is not counted in the measurement of height. The shanks and thighs are each twenty-five fingers, the instep and hips are each four fingers, these are clearly shown by the words of the text, and the commentary supplements that half a finger is added to the height of the instep, and four fingers are also added to the knee, so that there are a total of one hundred and twenty-five fingers. If calculated according to the span of directly outstretched arms, from the center of the chest to the junction of the shoulders is twelve and a half fingers, the middle limbs are twenty fingers, the palms are sixteen fingers, the backs of the hands are twelve fingers, and one finger is added to each of the words for knuckles and elbows, and these are doubled on the left and right sides, which is also one hundred and twenty-five fingers. The meaning of the Veda plus half, etc., is that the crown of the head is four fingers, the bottom of the head, that is, the height of the skull, is four and a half fingers, the forehead is four fingers, the nose is four fingers, the space from below the nose to the chin is four and a half fingers, the throat is four fingers, and from there to below the heart is as described above. Time and nine refers to people, meaning that the measurement of ordinary people is that the height is eighty-four fingers, and the outstretched span is ninety-six fingers. This (height) is not equal to the width, while the body of the Thus-Gone One is equal in length and width. Thus it is said that in this king of tantras, it is only clearly stated that the Buddha image is one hundred and twenty-five fingers, and it is described in detail with the extensive purification of inner and outer aspects such as mandalas. Also in the Red-Black Yamari Tantra,

I have spoken of eight facial measurements. Furthermore, it is recorded in the Sutra Requested by Shariputra, and even in the later translations that were certainly translated from Nepalese models, it is said to be mostly in accordance with this Kalachakra. In the Kriya Samuccaya, various quotations from this sutra are also cited. The Sutra Requested by Shariputra, which is known as an early translation, and the treatises known as 'Right Livelihood Common Sense Child,' etc., those that were popular in the early days mostly correspond to the two stages of generation and completion of the Kalachakra vows, with only slight differences. However, those who are known as scholars of later times unanimously oppose it. However, since the bodies of the Tathagatas are all-encompassing, it is difficult to determine that there is only one measurement. Even if those were not translated from India, they are supreme. By relying on those differences in measurement, one can also avoid errors in construction. Moreover, because in the past, the teachings were propagated in this region and great benefit was brought to beings, it is certainly a manifestation of the compassion of the Buddhas. Therefore, there is very little need to criticize and oppose those treatises; it is best to remain neutral. Here it is said: The position of craftsmanship and the compounding of medicine, the rituals of mantras, the profound nature of reality, these cannot be measured by speculative reasoning; one should abandon self-praise and arrogance. Now, I will explain a little about the order of those practices. Here it is said: The length of the face is twelve fingers, or thirteen and a half fingers. Facial measurements include twelve, nine, eight, six, etc., on those parts of each individual's body. Facial measurement refers to the distance from the hairline to the chin, therefore it is called face or facial measurement. The height of a cubit is called height or palm. A major part also refers to this finger. A minor part refers to other analogies. From one-eighth to one-quarter of a finger is called a foot, this is the term used by the wise. First, for one hundred and twenty-five fingers, the measurement of ten palms is as follows: four fingers for the crown of the head, five and a half fingers for the hairline, four fingers each for the forehead, nose, and throat, and the facial area is considered to be five and a half fingers. From the end of the throat to the chest, and from the navel to the genitals, each is the height of a cubit. The hips and knees are each four minor parts, and the thighs and shanks are each two facial measurements.
