Having passed away without attainment, the unoriginated Buddha-realm, adorned with limitless qualities and excellent marks, is possessed by all sentient beings. Even the present Buddhas, the Bhagavat, though diligently searching, cannot find the Tathagatagarbha, because all sentient beings possess the unoriginated Buddha-realm, adorned with limitless qualities and excellent marks. The Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas of the three times, like bees, proclaim that there is a Tathagatagarbha, but the eye cannot see it; the cause for such a question has been explained. For example, one who upholds the teachings of Rahula and diligently observes the precepts, very carefully examines the water containing living beings, thinking: Are there living beings or not? Or are they just some dust? In short, there is nothing. But if one gradually examines, one will see that they are tiny living beings. Similarly, the Bodhisattvas who have attained the ten bhumis, see with their own eyes that the realm of self exists in their own bodies, and thus see limitless and boundless realms. Therefore, entering the Tathagatagarbha is extremely difficult, and in a world like that of complete and utter burning, even giving up one's own life to proclaim it is extremely difficult and beneficial. The Bodhisattvas only proclaim the Tathagatagarbha to those Bodhisattvas, and not to others. Sentient beings themselves are the Tathagatas. For example, just as one with divine eyes, within the undying. Together with the undying one, a child with flesh eyes goes to observe the traces of a bird flying in the sky, can this child with flesh eyes see the traces of the bird in the sky? But the abiding, undying one can see clearly. Similarly, a person with flesh eyes also deeply believes because of the kindness of the abiding one. Just like a child with flesh eyes, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas believe in the teachings of all the sutras, and thus know that there is a Tathagatagarbha, but how can they truly see the realm of the Tathagata? Therefore, if the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas rely on others, like blind people, how can they have deep faith? Previously

It is said that I heard from the previous perfectly complete Buddhas that this place became a place with four kinds of sweetness. Those sentient beings who have tasted the four kinds of sweetness, even now, eat soil in their childhood, and the deliciousness that they have been close to for a long time, sentient beings still cannot give up. Similarly, in front of many perfectly complete Buddhas in the past, those sentient beings who practiced and extensively practiced the Tathagatagarbha still believe in the Tathagatagarbha, these sentient beings have practiced for a long time, repaying the Tathagata, not others. In the future, those sentient beings who hear and believe in the Tathagatagarbha are not others, just like the son of the Tathagata eating soil, this is repaying the Tathagata. Thus it is said. In the Lankavatara Sutra, in the chapters on the essence of the heart, etc. In the Lankavatara Sutra, Mahamati Bodhisattva asked: World Honored One, in other sutras, you have declared the Tathagatagarbha, the World Honored One said: The nature is luminous, completely pure, completely pure from the beginning, with thirty-two marks, existing in the bodies of all sentient beings. World Honored One, just like a precious treasure is wrapped in a dirty cloth, wrapped in the cloth of aggregates, realms, and places, covered by the defilements of attachment, aversion, and ignorance, becoming a completely constant defilement, declared as constant, stable, and solid. World Honored One, how is this declaration of the Tathagatagarbha different from the declaration of the self by the heretics? World Honored One, the heretics also declare the self as constant, maker, without merit, pervasive, and indestructible. The World Honored One taught: Mahamati, my declaration of the Tathagatagarbha is not the same as the declaration of the self by the heretics. Mahamati, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas
