Arrangement of Quotes for the Ornament of Other-Emptiness Madhyamaka Arrangement of Quotes for the Ornament of Other-Emptiness Madhyamaka Arrangement of Quotes for the Ornament of Other-Emptiness Madhyamaka Namo Guru Buddha Satvebhya! Having respectfully prostrated to those worthy of prostration, For the beautiful ornament that adorns Other-Emptiness Madhyamaka, Having been arranged in this way, now for what is needed, I will gather a few of the supreme quotes from the scriptures. Among them, it is said to be the definitive meaning, and the wise agree. At this point, in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra, it says: "World-Honored One, just as space is of one taste in everything and is not obscured by everything that is said, so too, World-Honored One, this definitive meaning taught by the World-Honored One, beginning with the fact that the nature of phenomena does not exist and ending with the fact that it is completely extinguished by its own nature, is also of one taste in all the sutras of provisional meaning and is not obscured by everything that is said in the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, and the Great Vehicle." It is said that directly teaching the ultimate truth as the definitive meaning is done in such a way that the other can be understood indirectly. In the Sutra Unfathomable Wisdom, it also says: "Which sutras teach the establishment of conventional truth are called provisional meaning. Which sutras teach the establishment of ultimate truth are called definitive meaning. Which sutras are taught for the purpose of entering the path are called provisional meaning. Which sutras are taught for the purpose of entering the result are called definitive meaning." It is said. Similarly, in the Great Nirvana Sutra, it also says: "What is it to abide in the definitive meaning? The definitive meaning is called knowing the Dharma, and it never lives by deception, does not change its conduct, does not become arrogant, does not cling to gain and fame, and does not cling to the Dharma taught by the Tathagata as a means of practice, this is called the definitive meaning. Whoever abides in this, that person is called abiding in the ultimate meaning, therefore abide in the definitive meaning. What is it not to abide in the guiding meaning? The guiding meaning is that the sutras say that everything is suffering, everything is impermanent, everything is painful, everything is empty, everything is selfless." It is said.
