When all afflictions are abandoned, it is called the Holy Non-Returner. Regarding this Non-Returner, concerning the afflictions of the Form Realm and Formless Realm that are to be abandoned through meditation, there are those who have not abandoned any at all, and those who have abandoned a little. From having abandoned a little to having almost abandoned them, there are various differences in realization, high and low. The abandonment of all afflictions belonging to the Three Realms is Arhatship. As it is said, "The swift one ends in three existences," at the very least, it arises from accumulating merit in three lifetimes. Although the method of applying the five paths in three lifetimes is explained, it is not absolutely certain. There are also cases where one individual manifests all four stages, starting with Stream-Enterer, in sequential order. There are also those who, without the two intermediate stages, have the capacity to abandon all afflictions of the Three Realms that are to be abandoned through meditation simultaneously, manifesting only the Once-Returner and Arhat stages. Those who, in the state of ordinary beings, have attained the samadhis of the Formless Realm through mundane paths, become Non-Returners upon seeing the truth, and thus manifest only the latter two fruits, and so on. These are all Hearer-Disciples (Śrāvaka) who are noble ones. A Pratyekabuddha (Solitary Realizer) is one who has accumulated merit for a hundred eons, but in those stages, mostly abides on the Path of Accumulation. By traversing the Path of Application, Path of Seeing, and Path of Meditation in a single session of meditative equipoise, and without interruption, knowing the cessation and non-arising, they manifest the fruit of Arhatship and the ultimate path. This is like the rhinoceros-like Pratyekabuddha, the chief among them. For the Pratyekabuddha who engages in assemblies, it is not so certain. However, all of them unanimously served the Buddhas in past lives and practiced like those who study the Hearer-Disciple path, but they are particularly skilled in understanding dependent origination, and due to the power of their aspirations, in the state of their final existence, when no Buddha resides, in a world realm without a teacher, without a lama, they awaken solely through the power of their own habitual tendencies, thereby manifesting enlightenment. Hearer-Disciples have various types of faculties, sharp and dull, but this one (Pratyekabuddha) has only sharp faculties. A Bodhisattva, from the moment of generating the first thought of enlightenment, accumulates limitless merit and dedicates it to enlightenment, engaging in listening, contemplation, and meditation on the Great Vehicle.

Therefore, in the path of accumulation, one also obtains many merits, and in the path of preparation, one achieves accordance with the supreme realizations of the nature of reality. Furthermore, one accomplishes immeasurable samadhi, dharani, and clairvoyance. In the path of seeing, one directly realizes the meaning of the unelaborated nature of reality in all its aspects. Thus, one incidentally obtains all the abandonments and realizations of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and is called a noble Bodhisattva. Those who continuously increase and obtain immeasurable qualities from the first to the tenth bhumi are called the sons of the Buddhas. Therefore, there is no need to explain these distinctions here to those who already know other scriptures such as the Abhidharma, but in order to give beginners a general understanding of the meaning, I have mentioned it briefly. The endless distinctions cannot be expressed even in a long time, because they are to be known individually by the noble ones themselves. Although great scholars explain them in many ways with many difficulties, it is not even like a drop of water taken from the great ocean with a single hair tip. Enough of elaboration. Fifth is: Requesting to turn the wheel of Dharma: Those who are lamps of the ten directions, Who have attained enlightenment without attachment, All those protectors, I, Urge to turn the unsurpassed wheel. In general, it is a prayer to all the Buddhas. In all the realms of the ten directions, the Buddhas illuminate the path for sentient beings wandering in the darkness of ignorance, becoming the lamps of the world. The Buddhas have completed all the stages of the path to enlightenment, such as the five paths and ten bhumis, and have attained the unsurpassed state of Buddhahood without any obstacles. Or, although they have obtained the perfect qualities of the path and the fruit, they have no attachment or craving for the fruit they have obtained. To all those unattached protectors, the Buddhas, I request them to turn the unsurpassed wheel of Dharma, which is the excellent wheel of Dharma. The wheel of Dharma is like a chariot wheel, which, although its essence is stable, can reach the other shore by the power of its form. Similarly, the wheel of Dharma is firm and indestructible, and cannot be destroyed by conflicting factors such as afflictions.
