It is to dispel hesitation and wrong conceptions. If one thinks that the wisdom of the nature of phenomena is the selflessness of phenomena, then is the vow to assert self-existence broken? Although those with sharp intellect may have such a perception, those with supremely pure and clear wisdom clearly see the difference between these two. If you ask me to explain, these phenomena that appear and are proclaimed, if they existed by their own nature, they would have to exist in accordance with appearance or in accordance with proclamation. For example, when looking at a tree stump at night, it appears as a human figure. If that which appears as a human figure existed by its own nature, then it would have to exist in accordance with appearance, having the characteristics of a human. However, because it does not have the characteristics of a human, that which appears as a human figure is not established by its own nature. Since it appears as a human figure but is not established as such, then for other appearances such as peacocks and elephants, even if they do not appear as human figures, what need is there to mention establishment? Therefore, all phenomena of appearance and proclamation, because they are the selflessness of phenomena, are also not established by their own nature. For the wisdom of the ultimate realm, because there is no such self-nature and self-characteristic that are believed to exist in appearances and proclamations, it is the selflessness of phenomena. If one only thinks about whether self-nature is established or not, then it is also without self-nature. Because the wisdom of the ultimate realm that is conceived by sound and mental expression, and the conventional wisdom that has clear appearance, which appears like ultimate wisdom, is not ultimate and is not established by its own nature. As the Great Regent (a disciple of Tsongkhapa) said, "Such expression is coarse." That is, the object expressed by sound and conceptualization, even if it resembles the form of the perfectly established ultimate truth, is not ultimate, but is encompassed by the conventional, the imputed, and the dependent. Therefore, no matter how many things have the characteristics of the self of phenomena, they will not become the way of existing of the self-nature of the perfectly established ultimate truth, and since the way of existing of the ultimate self-nature is different, that which is not true will not become that which is not true. For example, a magician recites mantras while focusing on a pebble, causing the senses of people to be deceived.

When an image of an elephant appears, since the form of the elephant that appears as an illusion does not possess the characteristics of an elephant, the elephant is not originally established in that place. However, it is not contradictory that a stone unseen by beings exists after that. That which appears as an elephant is not born from that stone, nor is it born from anything other than that. That stone did not create it. People do not see that stone itself as an elephant, nor do they see something other than a stone as an elephant. Rather, from the combination of mantras, substances, the meditation of the illusionist, and the attention focused on the stone, people merely see the appearance of an elephant. When an elephant that does not actually exist is seen, after that, the stone unseen by people exists. Although the elephant and the stone are not the created and the creator, without the stone, that would not arise either. The elephant seen by beings and the stone unseen are not of the same entity. Since the illusory elephant does not possess the characteristics of an elephant, the stone will not become without the characteristics of a stone. Since that stone does not possess the characteristics of an elephant, that stone will not become an elephant, but it will not become not a stone. This is what is known in the world. Similarly, apply it here as well. That is, the ultimate realm of reality exists, and due to the accumulation of causes and conditions such as conceptual thoughts, actions, and afflictions that wrongly fixate on it, the various appearances of samsara appear to sentient beings. The ultimate realm of reality does not create samsara, nor is it born from samsara, nor does it arise from another independent entity that is not the realm of reality. Sentient beings do not see the realm of reality as conventional samsara, nor does samsara arise from another independent entity other than that. Otherwise, it is merely that the delusion of actions, afflictions, and conceptual thoughts, which appear even though they do not truly exist, have wrongly entered into the nature of reality. All conventional appearances are merely appearances. Even though it does not exist in the nature of reality, after the conventional samsara seen by sentient beings, the ultimate nature of reality, bliss,
