Because it appears without autonomy due to being under the control of others, it is called "other-powered." That is like an image of the totally imputed, and the constantly related basis for the appearance of the image is like a mirror. The characteristic of the thoroughly established is that, although it appears to sentient beings as if it were indistinguishably mixed with that very other-powered nature, its own nature and characteristics are extremely contradictory; it is the mind of the Dharma-nature. For example, in the state of gold ore, it is like gold and stone. Or, like poison having the power to cause sentient beings to die and the power to make life as long as the sun and moon, although the substance and characteristics of the power are extremely contradictory, ordinary eyes cannot distinguish them. If such a phenomenon as making one immortal through substances and medicines becomes manifest, then the substance-power of causing death will be eradicated from its root. Therefore, the obscurations to be abandoned and all the wisdom of the path that abandons them are essentially other-powered. Thus, the other-powered is the place of acceptance and rejection, the valid conventional truth, while the thoroughly established is the ultimate truth that is liberated from acceptance and rejection. By abandoning the other-powered, the totally imputed becomes pure in its own place, but it is also necessary to understand the nature of the totally imputed. Furthermore, as it is said: "Discrimination and knowledge, and likewise speech, are coarse. The ultimate meaning is unique." Thus, the distinction between the two truths, and "Meaning and attainment and accomplishment are considered the three aspects of the ultimate." etc., are taught. The distinctions of each, and the differences between the real and the imputed, must be understood, but I will not elaborate here because it would become too extensive. Thus, the aggregates, elements, sources, and characteristics of phenomena are merely imputed by thought and appear only to inverted minds, but in reality, they do not exist at all. The conventional phenomena are without origin, and the ultimate phenomena remain unchanging; this is the reality. That is, the conventional phenomena are without origin, entering into the unchanging Dharma-realm as the mode of that Dharma-realm's characteristics. Now, in this context, I will explain it in conjunction with the Praise Beyond the World spoken by the noble Nagarjuna, which is the essence of the Middle Way. Even so, in that text it says: "O intelligent one, your aggregates...

Eh! Illusory mirage Gandharva city, Like a dream, it has been thoroughly shown to the wise. Those things that arise from causes, Without that cause, they will not come into being, Like a reflection, Why not want to make it clear? Since arising is not grasped by the eye, How can that be a real eye? Since the grasping of form is completely prevented, You say that form is like that. Without the object of sensation, it does not exist, Since sensation itself is selfless, You also believe that sensation itself is not inherently existent. Name and meaning are not different entities, People's words become language, Otherwise, it will become incomprehensible, You have shown the truth. The agent and self-power themselves, You only use in name, You believe that they are established interdependently. The agent does not exist, nor does the action, Merit is not like that, but arises from dependent origination. Dependent arising, what is unborn, You, the master of words, say so. Without the knower, there is no knowable, Without it, there is no consciousness. Therefore, the knower and the knowable, You say that they are all without self-nature. Thus it is said. Here, this is one of the two kinds of selflessness, only referring to the selflessness of phenomena. That is, whatever phenomena of appearance and sound, for each and every one of them, if there is a basis for a characteristic of a nature that is independent and not shared with others, then that phenomenon itself is independent and not dominated by others, therefore it is called "self." In short, for the phenomena of appearance and sound, if there is something that is not merely an illusion, not merely a conceptual imputation, but is established according to its mode of existence, or can exist independently, then it will become the "self" of phenomena. However, such a "self" is impossible to exist at all. Therefore, whether in the general or the particular knowable, there is no such "self" established, so all phenomena are selfless of phenomena. Entering the state of selflessness of phenomena, if the phenomena of appearance and sound do not exist in their own nature, how can they exist in the nature of others? For the state where no nature is established, in meditative equipoise, the object of conceptual thought will disappear, entering in a way that does not grasp anything and does not focus on any object. In post-meditation, it can only be examined with a definite understanding that is in accordance with reality,
