Having built them, each one was offered with fifteen kinds of offerings. The livelihood of about four thousand monks and lay practitioners who supervised and listened to the teachings of those scriptures was constantly provided for. Moreover, a Mahayana teacher named Ganga River (GAṅgāri) appeared, who had obtained the Dharani of Non-forgetting and knew all the minds of others. By teaching the oral instructions, he caused a thousand students to obtain acceptance of the Dharma. Kumarānanda, meaning Youthful Joy, (kumārānanda) a Gomi lay practitioner appeared, and by teaching the Dharma to five thousand lay practitioners, they all realized the Perfection of Wisdom. Mati Kumārasiddhi, meaning Intelligent Youth, (matikumārasiddhi) a lay householder appeared. By teaching the Dharma, he caused tens of thousands of people, including local children and girls, to become meditators of the Great Vehicle. Furthermore, the monk Bhadrānanda, meaning Auspicious Joy, (bhadrānanda) spoke only the truth, causing all the diseases and evil spirits of everyone in the city to be pacified. He lived together with about twenty monks who were extremely pure. It is said that he was harassed by other monks, and with that very body, he flew to the Pure Land of Manifest Joy. Also, the lay practitioner Dāna Bhadra, meaning Generous Auspicious, (dānabhadra) and Laṅkādeva appeared. He painted ten thousand images of the Tathāgata, and also built ten thousand statues made of stone, wood, clay, and precious jewels. He also built that many stupas, each one offered with ten victory banners. Furthermore, the lay practitioner Hubhuje gave grain, food, clothing, gold, horses, and cattle, etc., to all the beggars in the four directions for fifteen years. Finally, he gave away male and female servants, sons and wives, and even his own home, and meditated in a forest, obtaining acceptance of the Dharma of Non-arising. He taught the Dharma to his students, and it is said that he went to the Land of Bliss with that very body. Also, a lay practitioner named Peaceful Madhyamaka Intelligence (dbu ma'i blo gros) appeared, who went to each of the heretics and transformed himself into a form that corresponded to them, first explaining their respective treatises, and then within those treatises

Having stolen and taught the stages of the path of selflessness and great compassion, when it ultimately becomes a school of thought that is only without awareness, they enter Buddhism, and even simultaneously manifest multiple bodies. In this way, they cause nearly ten million non-Buddhists to enter the Buddhist teachings. Thus, it seems that those teachers appeared just before Nagarjuna. The others certainly appeared from the flourishing of the Mahayana up to the time of Dharmakirti, but even so, the way of organizing them at the same time as those mentioned earlier is not clear. The history of the spread of Dharma in the south comes from the story in the Garland of Flowers, which is the forty-first chapter. All the Sanghas mentioned above are only separated from the four major schools and the eighteen schools. If we briefly mention their classifications, although there is no disagreement in explaining the views and practices of each of the eighteen schools, various different opinions have arisen regarding the manner of separation. The assertion of the Sthavira school is that initially they separated into the Sthavira and the Mahasanghika. The Mahasanghika also separated into the root Mahasanghika school, the Ekavyavaharika, the Lokottaravada, the Bahusrutiya, the Cetiyavada, the Purvasaila, and the Aparasaila, making eight schools. The Sthavira also separated into the root Sthavira school, the Sarvastivada, the Vatsiputriya, the Dharmottariya, the Bhadrayaniya, the Sammitiya, the Mahisasaka, the Dharmaguptaka, the Kasyapiya, and the Sautrantika, making ten schools. This is their assertion. Furthermore, the assertion of the Mahasanghika is that initially they separated into the Sthavira, the Mahasanghika, and the Vibhajyavada, making three schools. The Sthavira also separated into the Sarvastivada and the Vatsiputriya, making two schools. The Sarvastivada also separated into the root Sarvastivada and the Sautrantika. The Vatsiputriya also separated into the Sammitiya, the Dharmottariya, the Bhadrayaniya, and the Six Cities. The Mahasanghika also separated into the Mahasanghika itself, the Purvasaila, the Aparasaila, the Rajagiriya, the Himavata, the Cetiyavada, and the Siddharthaka.
