It is said that a great event occurred in which almost all the birds were subdued. Those birds offered medicines, jewels, and various kinds of marine life. With those items, two thousand monks were offered sustenance, and eventually a temple was built for the sake of the birds. Even now, the birds of the ocean islands remain there. Therefore, that temple is called Pangatirtha. Furthermore, during the reign of three kings named Wangje, Deje, and Iyong, a thousand stupas were offered with one umbrella each day and countless offerings. Moreover, during the reign of King Bhogasuwala, i.e., Enjoyment Good Hair, and his son Lunar Tribe, and his son Deje Senge, the essence of alchemy was achieved. Whoever came to beg, they gave them one gold coin each. Whichever Bhikshu or Bhikshuni came, they offered items worth five hundred silver panas. Although it is not very clear in which country these events occurred, it seems that they mostly occurred in the Konkuna region. Deje Senge had three sons, the eldest of whom was named Byaghraraja, who had eyes like a tiger and stripes of flesh. He seized Tala Konkuna and built two thousand temples. His middle son was named Buda, i.e., the name of the planet Mars. He seized Upara Konkuna and Tulu Rati. He constantly offered to five thousand monks. The youngest, Buddha Shucha, was exiled and eventually obtained the kingship of Dravali. He constantly taught the Dharma to tens of thousands of Brahmins and tens of thousands of Buddhists. Furthermore, in the area of the Bikhsheda Mountains, there arose a king named Youthful Six-Faced King. He accomplished the vidya-mantra of the Goddess of the Source of Wealth, and grain and clothing became inexhaustible. Throughout the entire southern region, the king thrice equalized all debts by seeking out all debts. He gave one garment to all the poor. It is said that he also provided food and clothing for twenty years to about eight hundred thousand impoverished people, including Mutoba and others. In the Malaya region, during the four dynasties of kings Jajamcho, Namnon, Gyalcho, and Zowo, five hundred Dharma foundations were established, and correspondingly, five hundred temples were also built. In the regions of Karnata and Vidyanagar, there was a king named Wangchen.

appeared. His son was the Heavenly King. His son was Multitude, and during these three generations, the royal family of the country and all the Brahmins were commanded to worship only the Three Jewels. They also ruled the country for thirty years each. He had three sons. The eldest, named Child, ruled the country for three years. The middle son, named Rabdung, ruled the country for one month. The two of them built fifty temples each. Rabdung had vowed that if he worshiped a non-Buddhist teacher, he would kill himself. Later, he once worshiped the peaceful Linga and jumped into a razor pit. The youngest, named Nagaraja Bhagavan, was exiled with ten thousand attendants, so he sailed to the east to the land of Subduing Enemies near Kham. There he obtained the kingdom, worshiped the Buddha, and made great contributions to the Buddhist cause. King Sala Bahana, the mount of Sala, has already been mentioned above. There was a Brahmin named Bala Mitra, born in the land of Kalinga, who filled the lands at the ends of the two oceans with stupas. The southern land is triangular in shape with a long beak. The tip points to the south, and the base is connected to the central region. At the sharpest tip is the land of Rameshvara. The ocean from that place to the east is called Mahodadhi. The ocean from that place to the western end is called Ratnagiri. Although there is no division of boundaries in the depths of the ocean, due to the difference in the triangular shape of the island, the color of the sea appears unmixed for a long distance straight south of that place, and there is a line of demarcation where the waves crash. Therefore, a stupa was built in each city between the junction of the Mahodadhi and Ratnagiri seas. This is as predicted in the Manjushri Root Tantra: The land reaches the ends of the two oceans. Furthermore, there was a Brahmin named Naga Ketu, who built one hundred thousand statues of the Teacher, and each one was worshiped with ten different offerings. There was also a Brahmin named Vardhamala, meaning Increasing Garland. He transcribed ten thousand volumes of scriptures.
