It is said that if there is a re-debate, there will definitely be a victor. There are also many mistakes in mistaking the name "Source of Wisdom" alone, thinking that Sher Jung Lodro and Sher Jung Spa are the same person. This one is a monastic bhikshu, while Sher Jung Spa is a layperson, which is recognized by scholars. The western gatekeeper, Acharya Ngakgi Wangchuk Drakpa, was born in Varanasi, and his caste is Kshatriya. He was ordained in the Mahasamghika school, and his abbot gave him the name Shila Kirti. When he became a pandita who was proficient in grammar and many treatises, he received the Chakrasamvara initiation from Hasa Vajra, a follower of the good King of Konkana, and practiced in one part of Magadha, where he saw the deity in a dream. He knew through divination that if he practiced the accomplishment of speech, he would be able to achieve it. He practiced on the banks of the Ganges, and threw a red Karavira flower that emitted sound and light into the Ganges. The flower was instantly carried away for many yojanas, and then flowed back upstream. He drank the flower together with the water, and thus accomplished the great speech empowerment, gaining the wisdom to understand the words and meanings of a thousand verses of treatises each day, and was therefore given the name Ngakgi Wangchuk Drakpa. He was an outstanding expert in all aspects of Sutra and Tantra, and was unimpeded in teaching, debating, and writing. In particular, he often saw the Holy Tara and was able to dispel doubts. After that, he went to various places and became a wise man who was able to defeat many heretical debaters, and his fame spread far and wide. The king invited him to serve as the western gatekeeper of Nalanda and Vikramashila monasteries. He obtained wealth from the Lord of Hosts and constantly made offerings to temples and sanghas. He established many Dharma colleges that taught eight treatises on the Prajnaparamita, four treatises on the Guhyasamaja, and one treatise each on Hevajra, Chakrasamvara, the Four Seats, and Mayajala, as well as scattered treatises on Madhyamaka and Pramana. He practiced and gave many longevity elixirs to others, so he was able to live to be one hundred and fifty years old, and even the elderly...

He took ordination by transforming himself into a youth, and benefited about five hundred lay practitioners. He constantly taught the *Tattvasamgraha*, the *Abhisamayalankara*, the *Sutralankara*, as well as some sutras such as the *Guhyasamaja*, *Hevajra*, *Yamantaka*, and *Lankavatara*. Furthermore, he taught much Dharma, and because he was skilled at refuting heretics, he defeated about three hundred opponents who came from the West. If he focused on water in a vase, it would immediately boil; if he infused wisdom into a statue, it would move. Once, when constructing a mandala for the sake of the king, a deer pattern naturally appeared directly in front of the mandala. When he created a protective wheel with his focus, it disappeared. He possessed many such scattered, wondrous signs. Once, he engaged in a Dharma debate with a monk named Avadhutipa. The monk quoted Vasubandhu's teachings. In a joking manner, he disparaged Vasubandhu's works with sarcastic words. As a result, his tongue swelled that very night, and he could not speak Dharma. This condition persisted for several months, and he prayed to Tara. Tara said, "This is because of the fault of disparaging the teacher Vasubandhu with words, so praise that teacher." As soon as he composed a praise, the illness was cured. In this way, he performed activities for the benefit of beings in Vikramashila for many years. In his later years, he went to Nepal. He mainly focused on practice, and taught a little of the tantric vehicle, without extensively expounding the Dharma. Because he had many consorts, most people assumed that he did not keep his vows, but this was merely speculation. Once, the king built a Chakrasamvara temple in Shanta Puri. At the end of the temple's consecration ceremony, he wanted to hold a grand ganachakra, so he gathered many mantra practitioners outside the temple. He sent a messenger to invite the master to be the leader of the ganachakra. At the entrance of the master's hut stood a seductive woman and a dark-skinned, fierce girl. When the messenger asked where the master was, they said he was inside. The messenger went inside and requested the master to come and lead the king's ganachakra. The master said, "You go quickly, I will come soon." The messenger left quickly.

At the beginning of a road near Shantapuri, a master arrived earlier with two consorts, saying, "We have been waiting for a long time because you didn't come." After the complete gathering wheel of the Tsok ended, the three master couple sat in the temple. More than sixty people took their share of the Tsok food and left. The king thought, "There are only three people inside, why do they need so much Tsok food?" So he peeked through the crack in the door and saw the Chakrasamvara mandala of sixty-two deities manifest and enjoying the Tsok food. At that moment, the master transformed into a rainbow body and remained. It is said that he still lives there now. In Tibetan histories, it is said that the southern gatekeeper is Ngagwang Drakpa and the western gatekeeper is Sherab Jungne, but here it is written according to the agreement of three Indian documents. The northern gatekeeper is Naropa, and his history is known elsewhere. Even Shantipa, the all-knowing one of the debate era, heard the Dharma from this master. That was when Master Shantipa and his disciples were making offerings, a disciple went to deliver the torma (offering), and saw a very frightening yogi on the torma platform, so he discarded the torma at will and came back inside very frightened, and reported to the master. The master knew it was Naropa, so he invited him. At that time, he prostrated at Naropa's feet and heard the initiation, teachings, and many subsequent teachings. Later, he also often prostrated respectfully. Later, when Shantipa was about to attain accomplishment, Naropa carried a skull and begged from everyone like a beggar, a robber threw a small knife into the skull. Naropa looked at it, the knife melted like butter and he drank it. At the crossroads there was a dead elephant's corpse, he also performed the encoffining and then sent it to the cemetery. When Shantipa passed by, Naropa said, "I am a yogi, so I have such signs. Now, great Pandit, how about you also show a sign?" Master Shantipa said, "What else do people like me need? But if you allow it, I will do it."
