After that, everyone said that this person had great merit, so they always appointed him as king and honored him as Gopala. He ruled Bengal in the first half of his life, and conquered Magadha in the second half, and built a monastery called Nalendra near Odantapuri. In those two great countries, he established many Sangha communities and made great offerings to Buddhism.
