Although it is said that there is "Na Dung," there is no custom in Buddhism of monks beating the victory drum. Among the naked heretics, a person named "Spear Holder" appeared, arguing, "Whoever loses will be killed with this knot." It is said that Dharmakirti did not argue, but let Ishvara defeat him with wisdom. However, the claim that the naked heretics destroyed their opponents with behavior that violated their own tenets is unreasonable. It is meaningless to speak of stories that scholars have never heard, using legendary tales. Therefore, among those six ornaments, Nagarjuna, Asanga, and Vasubandhu are the authors of treatises, and Aryadeva, Dignāga, and Dharmakirti are the commentators. Considering their respective times, they equally illuminate the teachings, so they are called the six ornaments. The Brahmin Devakarma came later, so it is extremely wrong to say that he was a direct disciple of Dharmakirti. At that time, the yogis who attained accomplishment were: the great scholar Lavapa, Indrabhuti II, Kukkuraja, Padmasambhava Vajra, and Lalitavajra, who were roughly contemporaries. Although there were many people named Padma Vajra, the Padmasambhava at this time was the second. There are many Sanskrit equivalents of Padmasambhava, one of which is "Madoruha." And Master Kukkuraja, who is widely known as the "Dog King," or in some historical documents as "Kutaraja," was a well-known figure among the early yogis. It is said that during the day he taught the Dharma to a thousand dog-shaped heroes and yoginis, and at night he went with them to the cemetery, performing samaya practices such as ganachakra. He practiced in this way for twelve years, and finally attained the siddhi of Mahamudra. He explained the five inner tantras and many yoga tantras. It is said that he attained accomplishment by relying on the Chandra Guhya Tilaka Tantra. Master Lalitavajra was a pandita of Nalanda, who relied on the Sarvavid Vairochana Mayajala Tantra, taking the noble Manjushri as his yidam, and received the vajra from his own guru.
