Furthermore, the previous Sangha Acharya took rebirth as the son of the later Bhatta Acharya, and was even more intelligent than before. He came before his own deity and directly learned knowledge. Sometimes, the deity would completely enter his body and speak unprecedented knowledge. When he was about twelve years old and wanted to debate with glorious Dharmakirti, the Brahmins said, "Debate with someone else for now, for you will surely win. Dharmakirti is difficult to defeat." But he said, "If I cannot defeat him, I will not gain the reputation of a debater." So he went to the south, and they agreed that whoever won, the other would join their doctrine. As a result, glorious Dharmakirti won, and that person joined the Buddhist doctrine. It is said that in the south, there were Brahmins who acted as lay practitioners and made offerings to Buddhism, and the temple he built still exists today. Later, in his old age, he built a monastery in the Kalinga region, guided many people to the Dharma, and then passed away. Those who practiced like Brahma placed his remains in the cemetery for cremation, and a great rain of flowers fell, and all places were filled with fragrance and music for seven days. His remains all solidified into a single stone ball like a skein of thread, with no trace of bones. Even now, festival offerings are made. It is said that this teacher and the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo (reigned approximately 617-650) were contemporaries, which seems to be true. According to Tibetan historical records, when composing the seven treatises, even when bitter things were put in the food, he did not notice because he was focused on the content of the treatises. After completing the work, the king asked, "If you, the king, have someone to be punished, let him wear white clothes, fill a container with oil, and hold mustard in his hand. If he spills even a little, he will be killed." Then he had a person with a sword follow closely behind him, and had him walk around the palace. The king said, "Arrange singers and musicians to play around the palace." After doing this, he finally asked that person, and that person spoke of singing, dancing, and music.

They didn't know anything at all. Even if they said they were striving for it, it was like giving someone a container filled with a small amount of butter. It seems like they were speaking the truth based on the words of the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra. The Seven Treatises were written because of the habit of one's own intelligence, and also for the sake of the students, so they were written in the monastery. How could they have been written in a corner of the palace, like a king's messenger writing a letter? It is said that because his intelligence was very clear, he could answer about ten debaters at the same time. If, when thinking about the meaning of the scriptures, one cannot see anything else, then there is no difference between oneself and the dull-witted. Furthermore, that statement seems very unreasonable. When the Seven Treatises were completed, they were distributed to the paṇḍitas, but most of them did not understand. Some, even if they understood, said it was not good because of jealousy, and attached it to a dog's tail. Just as a dog wanders everywhere in the streets, so too will my treatise spread in all directions. So he said. At the beginning of the scripture, he added a verse such as "Most people are attached to the ordinary." Later, the teachers Lhawang Lo and Shakya Lo explained the Seven Treatises well, and urged Lhawang Lo to write according to the style of the self-commentary. Once he finished writing and presented it, it was washed away by water. He wrote it again, and it was burned by fire. He wrote it again, and wrote: "Because most have no merit, and because time does not wait, for the sake of habit, this difficult commentary has been made here." When he presented it, they said that the key points indicated by the style and nuances of the words had not appeared, but the meanings directly expressed by the words had appeared, and then they left it at that. Thinking that no one understood the perfection of my intelligence, at the end of the Commentary on Valid Cognition, he added the verse, "Just as rivers merge into the ocean, they dissolve and disappear into their own bodies." So it is said. Some say that Shakya Lo was a student of Lhawang Lo, and that he made the commentary, which seems reasonable. It is said that his student was Okyi Lo. Some say that he was a direct disciple of Dzamari Chokyi Drakpa, and others think that he was a direct disciple of Ornamentor, and others think that he received teachings at Spur, but these are all nonsense that do not fit the times. Furthermore, Chokyi Drakpa defeated the Victorious
