It is said that this venerable one's reputation in Tibet is that he was a disciple of Master Vasubandhu, more skilled in Prajnaparamita than himself. Some Indians say that he was a disciple of Dignāga, and did not even receive teachings from Vasubandhu. It is said that the Abhisamaya-alamkara of Prajnaparamita was requested from Master Dharma-bandhu, and the oral instructions were heard from Lekdan. However, here in India, he is considered to be just an ordinary person, like the last disciple of Vasubandhu. It is said that the followers of this master say this: This master, being tired of various treatises, in order to rest, when meditating on Prajnaparamita, special experiences arose in his mind. Although there was no doubt about the meaning, some places did not match the words of the sutra and the Abhisamaya-alamkara, and he felt unhappy. In a dream, the noble Maitreya prophesied: You go to the monastery of Varanasi, you will find something important. The next morning he went there and met the Upasaka known as Peaceful Armor Iron Giver, who had brought a copy of the twenty-eight thousand verse sutra from the southern Potala. The sutra matched the Alamkara, and he was relieved. Therefore, he is the author of the twenty-eight thousand verse sutra, and the Abhisamaya-alamkara explained as the Madhyamaka meaning of speaking of no self-nature, and the treatise that mixes all the sutras and the Alamkara. Since there was no such thing before this master appeared, it is said that the reason why it is said that no one had ever seen the twenty thousand verse sutra before is like that. Finally, he became the lama of a small kingdom in the east, owning about twenty-four monasteries, and began to teach Prajnaparamita, and even the monks who listened to the Prajna Sutra gathered at least in the thousands, which lasted for about thirty years. It is said that this master is a first bhumi bodhisattva in both China and Tibet, and some say that he is a practitioner on the path of preparation, although not a true Arya, but close to the Arya, so he belongs to the Arya's ranks. Some also say that he is an ordinary person, but belongs to the Arya's liberation group, just as the Arya is only the corner of the eye, and the king is called Buddha, etc., but does not become a Buddha because of it.

say, or that he was a Bodhisattva who preceded the lower path, etc., but it does not seem to be disputed that he was a rare and wonderful holy being. Who knows whether his mindstream is ordinary or noble? He appears as a tamer who follows the inclinations of each individual. As a servant of the Teacher Three Jewels, he heard the Abhidharma-kośa composed by the Teacher Vasubandhu, and relied on many who held the Abhidharma-kośa of other different regions. He became very friendly with the Teacher Dignāga, and was a disciple who listened to Dignāga teaching the Prajñāpāramitā. It is said that his wisdom was equal to Dignāga's, and he also composed a summary commentary on the Aṣṭasāhasrikā. Dignāga also made a summary of the meaning for his "Praise of Immeasurable Qualities." The servant of the Teacher Three Jewels is also considered to be the name of the Teacher Hero. Because Dignāga made supplementary praises to the "Praise of One Hundred and Fifty Verses," he is a hero, and if someone writes that Dignāga learned from each other, that is hearing an incorrect history, or even if they heard the correct history, it is an uncertain self-creation. Moreover, in the mutual praise, Dignāga's words are only the connection of those words of the "Praise of One Hundred and Fifty Verses," or only the clarification of the meaning, so it is attached as a commentary, and it should be understood that the two teachers did not write to each other. Later, that teacher went to the southern region, became the abbot of the monastery, and taught the Dharma to many people. He went to the Devala area, newly established about fifty large Dharma centers, made the Dharma prosper for a long time, and finally accomplished a yaksha woman, and went to the mountain king called Hundred Flower Mountain. The going of the layman Śāntivarma to the Potala Palace was also at the same time as these people. In the forest of the Puṇḍravardhana region, that layman practiced the holy Avalokiteśvara, and there were almost signs of accomplishment. King named শুভসার (Śubhasāra) invited the holy sight in a dream

Such offerings were to be sent to Mount Potala, so the king summoned the devotee and gave him a string of pearls and a letter of supplication, as well as provisions for the journey. The devotee thought: the journey is difficult and long, and may even endanger my life, but to go to the place where the tutelary deity resides is entrusted to me, and it is not right to break this trust. So he took the map of Potala and set off. Finally, he arrived at the stupa of Palden Drepung in Dhanaśrī's Isle. From there, the road to Potala went through a slightly underground passage, but it is said that now the land is submerged by the sea, and people cannot pass through. In the past, when there was a road, he passed through it. There, he could not cross a great river, and as the map said, he prayed to Tara, and an old woman sent a boat and rescued him. Again, he could not cross a lake, and he prayed to Krodhini, and a young girl sent a boat and rescued him. Again, he could not pass the edge of a forest burning with fire, and he prayed to Hayagriva, and rain fell and extinguished the fire, and the sound of thunder showed the way. Again, he could not pass through a gorge with many fathoms of depth, because the road was blocked, He prayed to Ekajati, and a great snake made a bridge, and he went over it. Then, many monkeys as big as elephants blocked the road, and he prayed to Amoghapasha, and those great monkeys opened the road and gave him delicious food. Then, he arrived at the foot of Mount Potala and could not climb the rocky mountain, and he prayed to Arya Avalokiteśvara, and a rope ladder appeared, and he climbed it. Then, all directions were covered with fog, and he could not find the way. After praying for a long time, the fog cleared. On one-third of that mountain, he saw the statue of Tara, and on the mountainside, he saw the statue of Krodhini, and so on. When he reached the top of the mountain, he found an empty palace with nothing but Thorewa flowers. There, he stayed in one direction praying for a month. One day, a woman came and said that the Holy One had come, please come here, and led him, opening a thousand layers of palace doors, and with each door opened, a samadhi arose. He actually met the five Holy Ones, scattered flowers on their bodies, and presented the king's letter.
