He was known as Ashoka the Sorrowless. Then, at some point, he became discordant with his brothers and fought for many years. Eventually, he killed six brothers and five hundred ministers. Furthermore, he destroyed many cities and ruled over all the lands between Khawa-chen and Mount Piercer. Having become exceedingly wrathful and cruel, he could not find peace of mind unless he carried out the acts of punishing with penalties, and he would not even eat. In the first part of the day, he would order the acts of punitive cutting, such as killing, binding, and beating, and only after that would his mind be at peace and he would partake of food. Although there are many stories of that king's army, they are not told because they are unnecessary. As Sa Wang Zangpo said, although some Indian rumors were heard, they are not written here either. At that time, incited by the heretical Brahmins, they diligently engaged in blood sacrifices. In particular, a hermit of the Bhrigu lineage, named Balangarna, declared that if a sacrifice were performed in which one hundred thousand people were killed, the kingdom would expand and it would become a cause for liberation. Therefore, a house for sacrifices was built. Although they searched everywhere for someone capable of killing one hundred thousand people, they could not find one for a while. Finally, they found a Chandala caste from Tirahati. The king himself vowed: Send all those who are fit to be killed to that house, and until one hundred thousand is reached, kill everyone who appears there. This is the vow of irreversible asceticism. In this way, when about a thousand or two thousand people had been killed, the executioner was wandering outside the city, and a monk, hoping to reverse his behavior, told him various stories of the faults of killing and the suffering of hell, but he could not awaken the root of virtue. The executioner thought: Before, people were killed by beheading, but now, from the words of this monk, I hear that they can be killed in various ways, such as burning, cutting, skinning, and so on. In this way, he killed many, and about five thousand people were killed in the sacrifice house. At that time, the former name changed, and Chandala Ashoka was known as Cruel Ashoka, that is, the cruel Sorrowless One. At that time, there were many novice monks who were disciples of the Arhat Drakpa.

Someone who possessed the realization of the warm stage (ོས་པ་,梵文 उष्मगत,ushmagata, warm stage) and the path of application, because he was not familiar with the road, arrived at the sacrificial site. When the executioner began to swing his sword, he asked the reason. The executioner also said the previous words. He said, "Then kill me in seven days, during which time I will not go anywhere else, but will stay in this sacrificial site." The executioner also agreed. Because he saw that the sacrificial site was full of flesh, blood, bones, and internal organs, he directly realized the sixteen true aspects such as impermanence. Seven days before, he also obtained the Arhatship and also attained the miraculous powers. On the day after seven days, because such attire had never appeared in this house before, he would use a killing method that had never been used before, putting a novice monk into a large copper pot filled with sesame oil, setting fire to it and burning it day and night, but his body was not harmed in the slightest. The king was surprised when he heard about it, so he came to the sacrificial site. There, the executioner ran over with a knife, and the king asked the reason. The executioner said, "This is the oath that you, the king, made yourself, that everyone who comes to this house must be killed until ten thousand people are reached." The king said, "Then you came here before me, so you should be killed first." When the two fought, the novice monk showed miracles such as raining, rivers flowing backwards, and walking in the sky, so that both the king and the executioner became more convinced, prostrated at his feet, and the seeds of Bodhi were awakened. After that, the novice monk preached the Dharma to the king, and the king deeply regretted his sinful deeds and immediately demolished the sacrificial site. In order to repent of his sins, the king asked the novice monk to stay. The novice monk said, "I cannot tell you how to repent of your sins. In the eastern crow's monastery, there lives a Khenpo Arhat named Name Banner, who will help you, the king, to repent of your sins." According to the prophecy, the king also sent a letter to the Arhat, in the holy land of Ba
