Attended by his retinue, he arrived with various appearances. Like that and so on, with a number of five hundred, he came displaying various miraculous powers. Then, rays of light like the color of gold emanated from the body of the Blessed One, pervading the entire Jambudvipa. From Shravasti to the Buramashimga Grove, the distance was far, and although there were mountains and other obstructions, all the people on both sides were blessed to see even the most minute objects. When the Blessed One ascended into the sky, Vajrapani followed behind him like a shadow. From above, the gods of the Pure Abodes, and from below, the gods of the Desire Realm, and from the right, Brahma, and from the left, Indra, and around the perimeter, the king of the Gandharvas, Five Crests, and Shin Tu Gawa, and Mik Jin, and other Gandharvas offered various musical instruments. Furthermore, the eight classes of gods, nagas, and others came with immeasurable offerings. From Shravasti to the Buramashimga Grove, seventy-seven thousand human and non-human beings were established in the truth. The city of Buramashimga Grove had eighteen gates, and at each gate, the Blessed One displayed a miracle, and then went to the house of Magadha Good Woman and received food offerings. At that time, the crowd, not seeing the Blessed One, began to destroy the house. The Blessed One blessed the house and the city, making it of the nature of crystal, so that everyone could see it, and it was not destroyed. Then, the Blessed One stayed in that place for many days, teaching the Dharma to Magadha Good Woman and other immeasurable crowds, causing countless beings to attain the four fruits and turn towards the three Bodhis. When asked about the reason, it was said that in the past, King Krikri had ten dream signs, which were known as such. The summary is: Elephant, well, flour and sandalwood, Delightful garden, baby elephant, two monkeys, Eight hindrances, fighting, and undamaged cloth, Are signs of the future arising of Shakya's teachings. When the Brahmins gave wrong interpretations of those dream signs, The king's daughter, Golden Garland, urged him to ask the Blessed One Kashyapa. The king also listened to her words and asked the Tathagata Kashyapa.

After inquiring of the venerable one, (the Buddha) prophesied the omens of the future age, causing King Kiki to rejoice and dedicate himself to virtuous deeds. It was prophesied that the woman with the golden garland of that time is now the virtuous woman of Magadha. Thereafter, (the Buddha) made the city of Buramshing disappear, and the Tathagata and his retinue appeared in the Grove of Victory. The seventh event is Devadatta's accomplishment of magical powers: The Blessed One was residing in Rajagriha. At that time, a terrible famine occurred. Monks with magical powers would take jambu fruits from the shore of Lake Anavatapta, rice that grows without cultivation from Uttarakuru, and nectar-like food from the heavenly realms, enjoying it themselves and sharing it with others. When Devadatta saw this, he thought, "I too shall obtain magical powers," and went before the Teacher, requesting, "Please show me the path to magical powers." The Teacher said, "You should strive for higher discipline, higher mind, and higher wisdom; magical powers and other things will also arise." He thought, "The Teacher does not prophesy magical powers for me," and went to the venerable All-Knowing One, requesting as before. He also observed the Teacher's intention and Devadatta's mind, and knowing that Devadatta possessed a sinful mind, said, "Devadatta, visualize the form in your mind as it is; magical powers and other things will also arise." As for those including the five hundred Arhats, if one were to examine his mind, one would know that he is a person with a sinful mind, and therefore he did not explicitly grant the prophecy of magical powers. He thought, "The one with the ten powers of light is also the Khenpo of my younger brother, and is of an upright nature, he will become the Teacher," and went to another place, to where the one with the ten powers of light was, and requested him. Since the direct perception of the Shravakas does not function without examination, he gave the instructions for magical powers without examination. Devadatta also went to a secluded place and practiced, and attained the samadhi of the first dhyana and also accomplished magical powers. Now I should control Prince Ajatashatru, he thought, and repeatedly entered Ajatashatru's palace.
