G. That night, Sgurjog spoke those words. A cushion with lining was laid on the lion throne, and Sgurjog was placed on it. The five hundred consorts abandoned their seats and listened respectfully, and many consorts, including Green Sage Mother and others, attained the fruit of non-return. Some attained the fruit of once-return, and some attained the fruit of stream-entry. Then, Green Sage Mother and her entourage wanted to see the Buddha, so they reported to the king. The king also reported to the Buddha, but the Buddha did not allow them to enter the palace of the consorts. So, five hundred windows were opened in the flower-decorated mansion. When the Buddha Bhagavan walked on the nearby street, the five hundred consorts offered him incense, flowers, clothes, and many other things. Then, at another time, there was a Brahmin's daughter named Kun Du Gyuma Du, named Deme Ma. Her father, the Brahmin, began to offer Deme Ma to the Teacher (Buddha). Her mother, named Burma, repeatedly dissuaded her, but she did not listen and took her to the Teacher. The Teacher knew that he could not subdue her with gentle words, and said, "I am not attached to the demon goddess Srema and others for a while, and I will not even touch this intelligent, impure nature with my feet." Then, Deme Ma became angry, and in a moment, her body became swollen, her hair stood on end, and her eyes became like cherries. Then, she was taken as a consort by King Sharpa, and the king became infatuated with her. Green Sage Mother prostrated to the Buddha, and Deme Ma prostrated to the gods. In this way, Deme Ma created many discords between the king and Green Sage Mother. The king ate at the two consorts' places in turn. When it was Green Sage Mother's turn, the cook presented a live roasted quail. The king said, "Give it to Deme Ma, it's her turn now. If you give it to Green Sage Mother, she won't kill, take it away." So, Deme Ma took the quail from the cook's hand and had one of her maids kill the quail under Green Sage Mother's room, and ordered, "Say that it was killed for Gautama (Buddha), and say that Green Sage Mother killed it." In this way, she fabricated a lie and gave the roasted quail meat to the king. At that time, King Sharpa was angry.

Then, having drawn his bow, he went to the place of the Blue Barley Goddess. The Blue Barley Goddess was absorbed in the samadhi of loving-kindness. The king shot an arrow, and the first time it fell halfway. The second time it turned back and fell in front of the king. The third time he was about to shoot, but (the Blue Barley Goddess) said, "Don't shoot, it will harm you." (The king asked,) "Then are you a goddess? Or a yaksha woman or something?" She replied, "No, I am one who has attained the fruit of a Hearer Non-Returner, and these five hundred are also those who have seen the truth." Then the king asked the Blue Barley Goddess what she desired. (The Blue Barley Goddess replied,) "Please grant me the thought of a sister." (The king) said, "It shall be done." Then the king, with the faith arising from the Dharma, showed supreme respect and immeasurable service and honor to the Blue Barley Goddess. The story of the Blue Barley Goddess and King Sharpa is set aside for now. The fifth story, placing Pearl Woman in the truth: The Teacher was staying in Shravasti, and at that time, the daughter of the king of the island of Simhala, Pearl Woman, grew up to be great, intelligent, gentle in mind, and skilled in all affairs. At that time, merchants who had come from the central region, near the palace of the king of Simhala, set up camp at night, and at dawn they recited the sutras of praise and so on. Pearl Woman heard it from the window and felt great joy in her heart. In the morning, after reporting to the king, she summoned the merchants and said, "Play the music of the central region." The merchants replied, "Princess, this is not music, it is the word of the Buddha." At that time, Pearl Woman heard the word 'Buddha' for the first time, which she had never heard before, and she was so happy that her hair stood on end, and she asked, "What is 'Buddha' like?" The merchants explained in detail. Then she gained unsurpassed faith, and at another time, when the merchants had finished their business and were returning home, Pearl Woman presented a letter of request to the Teacher, which read: Gods and non-gods and humans worship you, you are liberated from the suffering of birth, old age, sickness and death, noble lord, your fame is widely known, righteous one, please have compassion on me with the nectar of grace! So it is. After that, the merchants took Pearl Woman's letter
