想著因為緣故而痛苦啊。火生聽到後，心想：對這個人開個玩笑吧！於是將蔬菜用米飯蓋住後端給他。給眷屬們端上米飯上面有蔬菜的飯，到了吃飯的時候，乾坡卻因為自己沒有蔬菜而待著。當時一個僕人說：不該看的卻看到了，該看的卻沒看到。看到了傲慢者旁邊的猴子，卻沒看到碗裡的蔬菜。這樣說了。之後供養結束後，乾坡說：施主是布施的時候，其他的修行者是吃飯的時候，剩下的東西是給別人的時候，福德和不善業有和沒有啊。像是在說功德一樣地責罵。這話被火生的門衛聽到了，心想：對這個人開個玩笑吧！於是將米湯潑在門檻上放著。之後乾坡出來的時候，因為米湯滑倒，頭撞到門檻上受傷了。之後他去了具財那裡，說：火生這樣對我。現在為了報仇，要摧毀喬達摩和他的眷屬。於是他們商量，具財心想：如果喬達摩真的是一切智者，那麼我邀請他，他是不會答應的。如果他答應了，那就說明他不是一切智者，很容易對付。之後他去到導師那裡請求，導師明知故准許了。於是具財高興地回到家，在門外的院子裡挖了一個大坑，裡面裝滿了卡提達樹的火種，上面用木板、草和土蓋住，使其不被看見。心想：如果不能用這個火坑殺死他，就下毒。於是在所有的食物和飲料中都下了毒。當時火生的妹妹問他在做什麼，他說：明天要殺死敵人，就是喬達摩。又問：那麼朋友是誰呢？他心想：這樣會洩露秘密，於是將她關在房子裡的一個地窖裡，並鎖上了門。之後第二天，乾坡叫來了很多裸體者，那些人坐在具財家的屋頂上。當時，薄伽梵告訴阿難陀：不要走在薄伽梵的前面。之後導師親自帶領僧眾

Thinking, "Suffering because of causes!" When Fire-born heard this, he thought, "Let me play a trick on this fellow!" So he covered the vegetables with rice and served it to Gaṅpo. He served the attendants rice with vegetables on top, but when it was time to eat, Gaṅpo just sat there because he had no vegetables. Then a servant said, "He sees what should not be seen, but does not see what should be seen. He sees the monkey next to the arrogant one, but not the vegetables in the bowl." Thus he spoke. After the feast was over, Gaṅpo said, "The patron is for the time of giving, other mendicants are for the time of eating, leftovers are for the time of coming to others. Merit and demerit, existing or not existing!" He scolded as if he were speaking of merit. When Fire-born's gatekeeper heard this, he thought, "Let me play a trick on this fellow!" So he poured rice water on the doorstep and left it there. When Gaṅpo came out, he slipped on the rice water, hit his head on the doorstep, and was injured. Then he went to Possessor of Wealth and said, "Fire-born has done this to me! Now, in retaliation, I will destroy Gautama and his retinue!" So they plotted. Possessor of Wealth thought, "If Gautama is truly omniscient, he will not accept if I invite him. But if he accepts, then he is not omniscient, and it will be easy." Then he went to the Teacher and requested. The Teacher, knowing, granted it. Then Possessor of Wealth was pleased and went home, dug a large pit in the outer courtyard of the gate, and filled it with embers of katita wood. He covered it with flimsy wood, grass, and earth so that it would not be seen. Thinking, "If I cannot kill him with this pit of fire, I will give poison," he poisoned all the food and drink and left it there. Then Fire-born's sister asked what he was doing. He said, "Tomorrow I will kill the enemy, that is, Gautama." When she asked, "Then who is the friend?" he thought, "This will leak the secret," so he locked her in a cellar in the house and bolted the door. Then the next morning, Gaṅpo summoned many naked ones, and they sat on the roof of Possessor of Wealth's house. Then the Bhagavan told Ānanda, "Let no one go before the Bhagavan." Then the Teacher himself led the sangha.

以及眷属前往吉祥施的家中时，光明园林的天神和路途中王舍城的天神请求不要前往，但世尊开示说没有火和毒的损害，然后才前往。之后，世尊将脚放在火坑上时，火坑变成了清澈的池塘，里面长满了莲花等各种鲜花，各种水鸟在其中游动。众天神也从空中降下花雨。世尊将脚放在那些莲花的中心而行，之后声闻弟子们也来了。吉祥施看到后感到惊奇，刚波说：你相信乔达摩的幻术吗？吉祥施说：如果能施展这样的幻术，你为什么不展示呢？之后，刚波等裸体外道们感到羞愧，从另一个门匆匆逃走了。火生的妹妹在那时非常不安心地待着，吉祥施打开门说：过来吧！去拜见导师。但一开始她不相信，说了两三次后才相信。吉祥施自己去导师面前感到羞愧，火生的妹妹就领着吉祥施去请求宽恕，然后说：世尊和眷属请稍作停留，这些食物里掺了毒，现在需要准备解毒的措施。世尊开示说：如果施主舍弃了贪欲、嗔恨和愚痴的毒，这些普通的毒有什么用呢？把掺了毒的食物拿来吧！这时响起了“桑札巴达（梵文，Samprāpta，获得）”的声音，然后就吃了那有毒的食物。吉祥施心想：世尊虽然舍弃了三种毒，但眷属们并没有舍弃，毒会对僧侣们造成伤害。但谁也没有受到伤害，他感到非常惊奇。之后，用斋完毕后，吉祥施听法后见到了真谛，从那以后就关闭了外道们的大门，宣告说要为四众弟子敞开大门。第七十，火生出家：施主火生在自己的父亲去世后，还在自己母亲未去世的那一边也建造了佛塔，天神的荣耀。

And when the retinue went to the house of Palbe, the gods of the Light Garden and the gods of the royal palace on the way requested him not to come, but the Blessed One instructed that there would be no harm from fire and poison, and then he went. Then, when the Blessed One placed his foot on the fire pit, the fire pit became a clear pond, covered with various flowers such as lotuses, with various water birds swimming in it. The gods also rained down flowers from the sky. The Blessed One placed his foot on the center of those lotuses and walked, and after that the listeners also came. When Palbe saw this, he was amazed, and Gangpo said: Do you believe in Gautama's illusion? Palbe said: If you can perform such an illusion, why don't you show it? Then, Gangpo and other naked people were ashamed and ran away quickly from another door. The sister of Fire-born was very uneasy in the meantime, and Palbe opened the door and said: Come here! Go and pay homage to the teacher. But at first she didn't believe it. After saying it two or three times, she believed it. Palbe himself was ashamed to go before the teacher, so the sister of Fire-born led Palbe to ask for forgiveness, and then said: Blessed One and retinue, please stay for a while. These foods are mixed with poison, and now we need to prepare detoxification measures. The Blessed One instructed: If the householder has abandoned the poison of desire, hatred, and ignorance, what is the use of these ordinary poisons? Bring the poisoned food! Then the sound of "Samprāpta（梵文，Samprāpta，to obtain）" arose, and then he ate the poisonous food. Palbe thought: Although the Blessed One has abandoned the three poisons, the retinue has not abandoned them, and the poison will harm the monks. But no one was harmed, and he was very surprised. After the meal was finished, Palbe listened to the Dharma and saw the truth, and from then on he closed the doors of the heretics, and proclaimed that he would open the doors to the fourfold assembly. Seventieth, Fire-born ordained: Householder Fire-born, after his father died, also built a stupa on the side where his mother had not died, the glory of the gods.
