Previously, they went to request, but the Blessed One did not speak, indicating permission. Then, the Blessed One, invisible from Shravasti, went to the border of the two kings. He blessed them in such a way that they would develop a fighting mind. When their respective four-part armies came fully armored, the southerners saw that the northerners were victorious and that they themselves were completely defeated. The northern armies also saw that the southern armies were powerful, and that the northerners themselves were defeated. After blessing them in this way, the respective kings, mounted on chariots with their retinues, went to the Blessed One. He blessed them so that they could not see each other. Then, after prostrating at his feet and sitting down, he taught them the Dharma at the same time. For the southern king of Five Acquisitions, it became a talk on the Four Noble Truths, and he attained the fruit of stream-entry. He was fully ordained with "Come, welcome," and became an Arhat. For the northern king of Five Acquisitions, it became a talk inspiring him towards unsurpassed Bodhi. He offered all necessities to the Buddha and the Sangha for three months, and finally arranged a canopy of a hundred flavors of food. He offered the Blessed One a garment worth a hundred thousand, and also offered each of the monks a piece of cotton cloth, and made aspirations for unsurpassed Bodhi. The Blessed One also said, "Well done," and prophesied that the king would become a fully enlightened Buddha in the future, named Victorious. The forty-fourth, Taming the Thousand Flesh-Eaters: Again, the Blessed One was dwelling in the Bamboo Grove of Rajagriha. At that time, on the border between Shravasti and Magadha, on a desolate monastery road, a thousand flesh-eaters lived, devouring the lives of humans and animals. Having heard this, King Bimbisara urged Embodied. Embodied went to the Teacher and requested him to subdue this great assembly of fierce flesh-eaters between Magadha and Kosala. After the request, the Blessed One did not speak, indicating permission. Then, not long after the king left, the Blessed One, invisible from Rajagriha, went to the place of the flesh-eaters.

He resided in the grove of Sal trees. At that time, the Teacher generated compassion for the beings of the world. The son of Vaishravana, knowing the intention of the Blessed One, the great king Ngalso himself, together with his retinue of renowned and powerful yakshas, went before the Teacher and sat near him. At that time, the assembly of flesh-eaters, seeing from afar that their abode was suppressed by the Buddha, ran towards him displaying various unsightly forms. When they approached, the son of Vaishravana, together with many powerful yakshas, bound and tormented those flesh-eaters. They fled in fear and terror, but the Blessed One transformed all directions into great flames, so they could find no place to escape. They respectfully sought refuge in the Blessed One himself. The Teacher also taught them the Dharma that, when heard, would turn the minds of the flesh-eaters to virtue, and they, with great faith, took refuge and properly observed the precepts. Section 55, which describes the great assembly, etc.: Again, the Blessed One resided in the forest of Kapilavastu, together with five hundred Arhats, teaching the Dharma that possesses the bliss of Nirvana. At that time, all the renowned and powerful gods, as well as other beings with great power, gathered together. Then, four gods of the Brahma lineage came and spoke verses. The Teacher also spoke verses, saying that the Buddhas of the past and future also gathered in such an assembly as this. At that time, there were five hundred times two, plus one hundred and ten disciples, who were all powerful gods. There were also seven thousand yakshas from the forest, six thousand of the golden race, and three thousand named Rinem from the garden of the eastern Dhritarashtra, making a total of sixteen thousand yaksha gods. The yaksha of Rajagriha, named Water God, came with hundreds of thousands of attendants, as well as all the good friends and all the divine attendants. The four great kings each came with ninety-one sons, as well as deceivers and other worldly beings.
