of clothes, etc. How is that? He asked the person sleeping. That person also said it was a worm. He also asked the weaver, and the weaver said, "No, this is when I was halfway through weaving, I got the plague." "It has not been cut off, how do you know?" "I know from the touch of heat." (The people) praised, "You are so smart and blessed!" There, the one who was not interrupted wanted to be ordained, so he asked King Good Protector, and the king replied, "Okay." Good Protector himself was also happy to be ordained, but he thought, "If I am ordained, Devadatta will become king and will cause harm to everything, so first ask Devadatta's wishes." So he went to Devadatta and said, "If we are all ordained, what will you do?" Devadatta thought, "If I say I am not ordained now, Good Protector will not give me the throne. Now I promise to be ordained, and after they are all ordained, I will not be ordained and become king, so I will arrange it." So he said, "If you are all ordained, why should I stay here?" King Good Protector thought, "Devadatta is lying, so he must be made to swear an oath and let everyone know." So he announced, "Knowledgeable people listen, Good Protector, Namdru, Uninterrupted, and Devadatta, etc., up to five hundred Shakyas, these people are all going to be ordained, please be happy!" So he took their respective signs and announced them to all the people gathered. After that, Devadatta was very distressed, thinking, "If I am not ordained now, I will be lying, and I will not get the throne, so I will be ordained for the time being, and then become king later." After that, King Suddhodana cleaned the city and also summoned the soothsayers. The Shakyas each used their own wealth to be ordained, and in order to see the wealth of the poorest of the five hundred Shakyas, the Shakya men and women and people from various places also gathered. At the east gate of the city, a lion throne was set up, and the king himself sat on it, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of attendants. There, first King Good Protector was decorated with ornaments and came out in a chariot, and the soothsayers observed and said: "This person will please the teacher."

It was prophesied that they would fall. When Devadatta appeared, the jewel on his head was red, like flesh, and after it was taken away by a bird, it was said: This person, because he opposes the teacher, will go to hell. Also, when Kokalika, Khandadra bird, Katamorakatishya, and Ocean-given came out, they made the sound of a donkey, saying that these people, because they spoke ill of the holy ones, will go to hell. Nanda, riding an elephant and looking at each other, dropped a pearl necklace that fell on the elephant, and he picked it up. This person, because he is too greedy, will be reborn in hell. Others, such as boats and those that are not obstructed, were mostly prophesied to be auspicious. The five hundred Shakyas, like going to an amusement park for a festival, competed to dress up and went to where the Bhagavan was. Then, the teacher thought, those who obtain full ordination through "Come here" are definitely the last existents. But among these people, there are also those who are not the last existents, and those who do not please the Tathagata. Therefore, he thought of having them ordained and fully ordained through the Sangha's karma, and he issued the same order to the Sangha. The barber who shaved their hair was the barber Upali, sent by King Shuddhodana. When he was shaving the hair of King Bhadra, he was filled with tears and said: I, who serve the main person, will now serve ordinary people. King Bhadra said to him: Do not be sad, I will make it so that you do not have to serve ordinary people. King Bhadra said to the Shakyas: The barber Upali has been respectful to us, and we will not return home again, and do not need decorations. For his livelihood, give him all our decorations. After saying this, on the laid-out large cloth, the decorations of the five hundred Shakyas were piled up, forming a large pile. Then, Upali gradually shaved the hair of the five hundred Shakyas. Finally, in the interval when the Shakyas went to bathe, Upali thought: These people do not even covet great glory and wealth such as the throne and renounce, I should not covet their decorations.
