He entered into it. Afterwards, he went to the village of farmers and observed the state of agriculture. He saw that the farmers' hands and feet had turned yellow, and the oxen were tired and plowing. Seeing these things, great compassion arose in his heart. He said, "May you experience happiness." Then he dismissed the farmers and untied the plows. Afterwards, seeing the suffering of the farmers, his heart was even more saddened. He sat in the shade of a jambu tree and naturally entered the first dhyana and realized it. As the Bodhisattva remained in that dhyana, many people did not abandon the Bodhisattva but stayed near other trees. At that time, the king thought, "Now I should take the young prince and go see if we have missed the harvest season." So he rode in a chariot and went to where the Bodhisattva was. By then, the sun had passed noon, and the shadows of the other trees had shifted to the east, but the shadow of the jambu tree had not left the Bodhisattva's body, nor had the shadow moved to the east. When the king saw this, he prostrated at the Bodhisattva's feet. "Just as when you were born, the earth shook, and the shadow of the jambu tree does not leave your body. O wise one, these are two miracles! I prostrate to you, the all-knowing one." Thus he praised him. Afterwards, the Bodhisattva arose from his dhyana and got into the chariot. On the way to the city, they passed by a cemetery and saw various decaying corpses. Great sadness arose in his heart, and while still sitting in the chariot, he sat in the lotus position and entered into dhyana. Again, the king awakened him from his dhyana, and they went to Kapilavastu. The soothsayers said, "If this prince does not renounce the world within seven days, he will become a Chakravartin king. If you wish to see his goodness, then protect him for seven days. O King, just like an unfurled umbrella, there is no doubt that the seven precious things will appear." So they spoke. The sixteenth is called the consort Mrigajata (Deer-born). Then, returning to the city, the daughter of the Shakya clan, Suprabuddha, was named Mrigajata.

A noble woman was looking out of a window and saw the Bodhisattva, and said: "Alas, how happy is this one's mother! And his father is also happy. Alas, who will become his wife? That woman will also be freed from suffering." The Bodhisattva was delighted to hear the words of peaceful Nirvana, and threw the pearl necklace, which flew from the window and hung around her neck. This was seen by the crowd, and they reported it to the king, who then took twenty thousand hunter women with attendants as the Bodhisattva's consorts. In short, the three best consorts each had twenty thousand attendants, making a total of sixty thousand consorts. Seventeenth, surrounded by guards: Then, King Śuddhodana and his brothers deliberated, trying to find ways to prevent the young Siddhartha from renouncing the world. They surrounded the great city with seven layers of iron walls and moats. All the gates were made of iron and hung with bells that made a great sound, so that the sound of opening the gates would spread throughout a yojana. The stairs outside the palace were movable, requiring five hundred people to move them at night, and five hundred people to install them in the morning. In the palace above, the Bodhisattva was surrounded by all the noble women, and they were made to perform various songs, dances, and music. The ministers, together with the four divisions of the army, patrolled the perimeter outside the enclosure. At night, King Śuddhodana himself guarded the outside of the east gate with his army. Similarly, Śuklodana guarded the west, Droṇodana guarded the south, and Amṛtodana guarded the north with their retinues. The one who patrolled everywhere was Śākya Mingchen. In the first watch of the night, he went to the east gate and asked, "Who is keeping watch here?" King Śuddhodana replied, "I am keeping watch." Śākya Mingchen said, "Please keep watch, may it be well with you. The world asleep is like a corpse, The sleeping are under the power of demons, Only the one who does not sleep is always wise, Therefore, do not sleep, keep watch." Saying this, he also went to the other three directions and to the ministers, urging them to keep watch. Thus,
