Residing there, he was highly proficient in the Sutras and Abhidharma of both the Greater and Lesser Vehicles. He became the guru of King Hrisha Deva of Kashmir. He was a preacher of the Dharma, and in Kashmir, Lahore, Maru, and other places, kings, householders, and various Brahmins developed faith in him, and he built about five hundred Buddhist temples. He extensively preached the Dharma in places near Kashmir such as Ghazni, causing the customs of the Turks and Tajiks to mostly decline. A Tajik king imprisoned a teacher, saying, "Give up taking refuge in the Three Jewels, and it would be good if you followed the customs of the heathens; if you don't, I will kill you." The teacher said, "Even if I face death, there is no other refuge other than the Three Jewels." So he was put in iron fetters and thrown into an unbearable prison pit. The teacher prayed to his tutelary deity, Tara, and the iron fetters turned into a garland of flowers. The goddesses rained down a great shower of flowers and sandalwood powder in the prison, and played great music. The Turkish king came to see and saw that there were no iron fetters, so he put on another iron fetter, and that also turned into a garland of flowers. In this way, seven iron fetters turned into garlands of flowers, and the king was amazed and took him as an object of veneration. However, because he could not spread the holy Dharma there, he was displeased and went to Kashmir. Also, a great teacher of the Vaibhashika school named Sanghamitra had a dream in which he saw a blue goddess in the presence of the Great Sage Buddha and his retinue, who said, "You should study the Great Vehicle well." So he went to Kashmir and listened to many teachings of the Mahayana Sutras and Tantras. He made the Holy Mother Tara his tutelary deity. Because he could not find a place to listen to the Prajnaparamita, he heard that in the Central Land there was a teacher named Vimuktisena who taught the Prajnaparamita, so he set out for the Central Land, but on the way he was captured by robbers, who said, "We need to offer a blood sacrifice of a human to the goddess Durga, so we have captured you." When they arrived at the place of the goddess Durga, which was like a charnel ground, he prayed to the Holy Mother Tara, and the statue of the goddess broke into many pieces.

Po rang ga so. There, the robbers also panicked and fled, and the teacher was saved. There was also a teacher named Subhashakirti, a great master of the Vinaya. He relied on the tantra of the manifestation of Tara internally as his yidam. Once, he went from the U-Tsang region along the western direction, and eventually built a monastery on a mountain. By teaching the Dharma, the Sangha was also established. There were many leaders of Garlog there, and those bald-headed, red-clothed people would bring harm to us, and all of these must be destroyed. So an army of about three hundred elephants came. There, after praying to Tara and others, he said, "Sprinkle water in the direction the army is coming." After doing so, all the elephants were very frightened, and no one could control them, and they were taken back to their respective places. There was also a teacher named Buddha Dasa, who served as the Khenpo of Dhana Puri. Once he went on a journey, and in an empty village there were many tiger dens. When the teacher inquired, he learned that the tigers ate many people in the city every day, let alone other small creatures. Hearing this, he felt great compassion. As he walked along the road, all the tigers rushed towards the teacher. He prayed to Tara, and after reciting the mantra, he sprinkled water, and those tigers became possessed of a peaceful mind, and from then on they did not harm sentient beings, and they passed away after abstaining from food, and as a sign of being reborn as a god, a great rain of flowers fell. There was also a teacher named Konchok Sumgyi Wang, who was a disciple of the teacher Dignaga. When he was teaching the Dharma in the eastern Odibisha region, once a huge poisonous snake emerged from the great ocean and ate many people and elephants. When it approached the city of Utakala, the teacher saw that countless beings were about to suffer harm, so he prayed intensely to Tara, and sprinkled mustard seeds that had been recited with the Tara mantra, saying, "Although this place is ruled by the one who holds the ear of corn, you have the compassionate heart to benefit beings, listen to my words, and go to rest underground!" As soon as he spoke, the snake fled back and entered the Ganges...
