Both of these images of me faced the great Bodhi, so they were known as the "Turning-Face Tara." Also, during the time of King Dharmapala, near a well where monks fetched water in the northeast of Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya), there was a stone statue of Tara. At that time, the Sravaka monks of Simhala, the Sindhapas, burned many tantric scriptures in the fire. They also destroyed things in order to find a large silver Heruka statue. Because the Dharma wheel of the teacher Buddha Shri Jnana was also greatly harmed, the Sravaka monks of Simhala were punished by the king. A Sindhapa monk went to the Tara statue and prayed, "Please save me from the fear of the king's punishment." Tara said, "You don't remember me in peaceful times, but now you remember me?" Then she entered that well again. His entire body fit into that very small water outlet, and the king's men searched but could not find him. Afterwards, he fled at night and reached a distant place in eastern India. During a festival, the door under the eaves of the upper building of Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya) did not open. When that Simhala monk was called again to open it, the door opened by itself. The king was also pleased with this and bestowed many things upon him. It is said that before the teacher Nagarjuna, about five thousand people attained accomplishments by relying on the Tara mantra. During Nagarjuna's time, about five thousand people also attained accomplishments. In particular, the history related to this tantra is: In eastern Bengal, a Bhikshu of the Brahmin caste named Hayapala, who was a master of the three pitakas, had great faith in the initial spread of the Mahayana. He listened carefully to the teachers and became wise. Then, from the Brahmin Guhyashila (Secret Nature), who had seen Vajrapani, he received the Tara arising initiation and obtained all the instructions and subsequent instructions. At that time, in the place of the mantra holders, only fragments of this tantra were taught through oral transmission, without complete tantric words or written records. Afterwards, that teacher meditated single-mindedly and attained miraculous powers.

Having attained accomplishment, he went to the Vajra place of Oddiyana, and from the Dakinis, he invited the root explanation tantra of Tara's arising, the root explanation tantra of the fierce wrathful one, the supremely secret tantra of Vajrapani, and the tantra called Heruka Generation. In the land of Tipura, he built a temple in the depths of the forest and resided there, teaching the condensed Prajnaparamita to common beings. Relying on the mantra of Tara, he subdued the five kings of the east, making everyone believe in the Three Jewels. He subdued the goddess Uma and the king of gods, Rabtuga, and all offerings were provided by them. Relying on the mantra of Achala, he accomplished illusions, transforming precious trees, walls, mansions, gods, goddesses, and so on within a twelve-yojana radius. Relying on the mantra of Vajrapani, he annihilated about five hundred who hated the Dharma. After teaching the Dharma of Paramita for many years, he ascended into the sky with a swaying motion through the power of the Heruka mantra, and departed to Janglochan with his physical body. His disciple who taught the secret mantra was only Acharya Hayaghosha, who acted similarly to the previous teacher. This one accomplished the wrathful king Hayagriva, and departed to the Rakshasa world without abandoning his physical body. These two teachers were roughly contemporary with the Brahmin Sarahah. Acharya Nagarjuna requested these four tantras from that teacher, and this teacher accomplished all those mantras. He taught Arya Deva, who instructed Lesser Rahula Bhadra. This teacher was ordained from the common people, proficient in the five sciences, and knew all the Tripitaka of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles. It is said that he compiled the treatises of Arya Nagarjuna into a single path and composed a treatise called Asmagarbha. Through debate, he refuted the heretic Chakravarma and converted him to Buddhism. He defeated many Shravakas in debate and brought them into the Mahayana. Relying on the mantra of Tara himself, he accomplished a Yakshini.
