Then think with your mind, and again rest equally in that state. Mix whatever thoughts arise with the water in front of you, and meditate in such a way that you only think of water, without thinking of anything else. The ninth is, the mantra of the letter La is: The first object. Recite ལཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: लँ, Romanized Sanskrit: laṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Lam), and meditate on the earth mandala, etc., similar to that. In front of you, make an image of the shape of the earth, round or square, using any of the five colors, and turn it over well. Look at it, and in front of it, visualize something solid with the same color as it. Do not think of anything else. Then visualize all appearances dissolving into that colored earth image. The remaining four are, the door of the mantra is a branch of the Lamas. The second is, clarifying the discordant side, destroying the demons: First, sit on a comfortable seat, and meditate on both Shamatha and Vipassana as before. Whatever thoughts arise, say ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and cut them off. In the intervals of meditation sessions, combine with various activities. For example, while remaining on the basis of yoga, like going from the lower room to the upper room, or entering from a bright place into darkness, or going from a dark place to a place with light, and actions from inside to outside, etc., in each different place, time, and action, whenever there is a different change in the mind, cut it off with ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and mix it with emptiness, this is one object. Also, for all appearances of joy, sorrow, attachment, hatred, fear, etc., mix them in the same way, this is one object. Imagine harmful enemies and demons as objects of thought, and cultivate compassion intensely, saying ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and mixing them inseparably with your own mind, this is one object. Also, imagine relatives and other objects of attachment in your mind, saying ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) to cut off attachment, and mix them with your own mind and leave them, this is one object. Similarly, practice with all fears that depend on the elements and sentient beings, this is one object, making a total of five. Having become proficient in this way in your own home, go to cemeteries and other places for a while at night and examine whether your mind is stable or not. If it is not stable, then meditate in your own home for a while. When it is stable, in cemeteries and remote areas, etc., in places where Yakshas, Rakshasas, and Bhutas dwell, contemplate in a way that is in accordance with the eight worldly dharmas.
