Rays of immeasurable light emanate, pervading all ten directions. All the container world realms transform into celestial palaces, dissolving into sentient beings. All sentient beings, the essence, transform into Hevajra or Nairatmya, then dissolve into oneself. One's own body gathers back from above, below, and all sides, dissolving into the Hum (ཧཱུྃ,梵文:हूँ,hūṃ,seed syllable) with its seat. The seat, lotus, sun, dissolve into Hum. The hook, abdomen, head, half-moon, bindu, nada are gathered in sequence. The nada is also purified into emptiness. Remain in that very state as long as possible, and if there is previous experience, sustain it. Again, visualize the deity as a clear and radiant form. This is the subsequent yoga. In the Ngok tradition of Hevajra, one does not engage in the visualization of retaining the bindu. For some individuals, having been taught only the oral instructions on meditating on luminosity, the experience of intrinsic luminosity may arise spontaneously. However, for the most part, it is more effective to first gain various experiences of the oral instructions on intrinsic luminosity, and then meditate on this (subsequent yoga). These are the instructions for meditating on luminosity during the waking state. The third is the oral instruction for meditating on luminosity during sleep. If one has previous experience with tummo, illusory body, or the luminosity of the waking state as just explained, then this will not be difficult. For some, it may also arise spontaneously. Even if one has not meditated on those, one can quickly realize luminosity by relying on this instruction. Among these, there are two: actually holding the luminosity of sleep and mixing sleep with daytime. The first is: In one's own heart, at the center of the four-petaled lotus channel, visualize a blue Hum (ཧཱུྃ,梵文:हूँ,hūṃ,seed syllable). It is also said to visualize the four Anuttaras on the four petals, starting from the front and going clockwise, also in blue. Blue represents the mind of the Buddha, so it is reasonable to visualize it that way in the heart. However, it is not necessarily blue, and in general, the actual practice of the oral instruction is most important. In any case, having visualized the five letters, first focus the mind on A. Then A dissolves into Nu, Nu dissolves into Ta, Ta dissolves into Ra, and one should also focus on each letter for a moment. Then oneself also dissolves into the Hum in the center. Hold the mind on the Hum syllable for a long time. Then also leave it slightly without focusing. Meditate in this way repeatedly in each session. During retreat, meditate in this way for a month or so. If one naturally realizes luminosity during that time, that is excellent; if not...

Do not make any further calculations. Next is the main practice: Strengthen the body with food and massage, etc. Stay awake for a day or two, offer torma to the dakinis, and sequentially focus the mind on the other four letters in the heart, and finally fall asleep with the mind focused on Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). In this way, one will grasp the clear light. If one does not grasp it, then repeat the meditation, or ask a friend to observe, etc., which is similar to the common points of the Five Stages and the Six Dharmas. Here also, according to the various stages of gradually entering deep sleep, although it is also explained how to focus the mind on the five letters, this is only to understand the meaning of pure union obscuration, and it is difficult to practice, so do as mentioned above. Regarding the meaning, it should also be in accordance with the tantric scriptures, and it seems somewhat inappropriate to connect the three, appearance, increase, and attainment, with the various channels and chakras. Second, mixing sleep and daytime appearances: Place a clear and easy-to-view thangka in front of you, or place a thangka in a slightly dark place, there are two ways to project the light of mirrors, etc. onto it. But the latter is difficult to do repeatedly, so except for occasionally trying it once, it is said to practice the former. In any case, the first thing to do is the preliminaries. Maintain the body posture, relax the mind, focus the eyes and mind on the thangka, and stay for a while. Remember the clear appearance in the mind as an illusion. Immediately after that, do not look, but carefully observe the essence of the appearance in the mind. Gradually, in the state of the disappearance of appearances, place awareness in an unmade state. If there is an experience of bliss and emptiness, you can expand it to meditate, but watching the thangka, etc. is still often meditated as before. One meditation session. After becoming slightly proficient, abandon the thangka and learn to appear in the mind. Two meditation sessions. If you are used to it, at the moment of waking up from sleep, be able to clearly manifest the deity like an illusion. Then meditate as before. Also meditate in this way when going to bed at night, so that the deity merges, and merge sleep with clear light. Meditating in this way can mix day and night. Three meditation sessions. In this way, the key points of meditating on the clear light during waking and sleeping are the path to enlightenment in this life for diligent practitioners. Regarding this, it is said in the old ancient text that from then on, one should practice behavior, which is the practice of the near lineage.
