How to speak? It's like a mute speaking to a deaf person. This means that the ultimate co-emergent is inexpressible. Among them, the sphere of activity of the mind is all that appears as grasper and grasped, not as only explained as the dharma-sphere. On the other hand, as it is said: Each consciousness is each knowing, The mind-sphere is also that, It is also considered as the seven elements. Similar to how the six consciousnesses are explained as the mind-sphere, here also the consciousness together with its retinue is called mind. All the objects such as forms and the sphere of activity of understanding such as space, and the consciousnesses also become internal mutual objects, and all other kinds are also the sphere of activity of self-awareness, etc. In short, everything is the sphere of activity of consciousness. Mental factors are not counted separately from consciousness, because they themselves are the transformations of consciousness. Self-awareness also has two aspects, conventional and ultimate. Conventional self-awareness is the entity of each consciousness, just as the self-awareness of eye consciousness is not other than eye consciousness. In the second sense, although the mind is the mind's consciousness and its retinue and conceptualization, because the habits of the mind of previous lives give rise to the consciousness and its retinue of this life, considering both direct and indirect causes, it is also considered that all the spheres of activity of consciousness become the sphere of activity of the mind. If it is not the sixth consciousness, do not the other six consciousnesses also plant seeds? Why is it thought that all habits are planted by the mind and its retinue? Because the direction of those six is transformed by the mind consciousness, therefore it is planting seeds, but if separated from the mind, then they cannot plant seeds. Although the mind does not arise without relying on the other six, the agent of everything is the mind. Thus, all that becomes the sphere of activity of the mind is only an appearance that arises in wisdom from the cause of mere aggregation of interdependent origination, and there is not the slightest existence in reality, therefore it is like an illusion, not the co-emergent reality.

The meaning symbolized by the first Bhumi, for example, all expressions and mental constructs that cling to phenomena cannot coincide with the true meaning. From the perspective of personal experience, they are all a series of falsehoods. From the perspective of verbal expression, how can one express co-emergence? It is impossible. Actions of body, speech, and mind, various postures, asceticism, speech, thoughts, scattered meditation, etc., in none of these can one truly realize co-emergence. The glorious Saraha also said, "It is not to be pointed out by the guru, nor to be understood by the disciple. Co-emergence is the taste of nectar. Who can tell it to whom?" The accomplished oil grinder also said, "The fruit of individual self-realization is spoken in the words of Tilopa. Whatever is hidden from the scope of mental activity, that is not the ultimate truth." If one thinks that in this way, there is no way to generate co-emergence in the disciple's continuum, what should be done? How can co-emergence, which transcends the path of speech, actually be expressed in words? Although the meaning cannot be truly expressed in words, the guru, through false dependent origination, with various symbolic methods, for the disciple who always strives to maintain focus, at some point, wisdom will arise. The venerable Saraha said, "Co-emergence cannot be expressed in words, but the guru's instructions can be seen with the eyes." Whatever words are spoken pointing to that meaning cannot touch the ultimate truth, so they are false. All conceptual thoughts are the same. The so-called guru bewildering the disciple with symbolic methods does not mean teaching wrong instructions and deceiving the disciple, but rather that the guru teaches skillful methods, causing a new correct meaning to arise in the disciple's continuum, which is only the disciple's own illusory perception. Because there is nothing new to be produced or realized in the innate nature. Kanapa also said, how can one tell others about the jewel of the Buddhas, co-emergence? It is like a mute who cannot speak, speaking to a deaf person who cannot understand. Therefore, it is experienced through practicing the instructions, not in the realm of sound and conceptual thought. This means that these so-called co-emergences are
