Even if someone were to explain the phrase "to pacify elaboration with elaboration," it seems that they would only be making a literal explanation by quoting scriptures. This phrase does not appear in either the Mar do or Vairochana Vajra translations of the root text, nor is it found in the preceding or following words and commentaries, so it is not mentioned. Therefore, the mind, which is the cause and lineage, and is primordially and naturally pure, is indicated by the symbol of the lotus. The seed of the habit of the changing bindu resides there, and the seed and the naturally pure mind are also mixed inseparably. The changing is indicated by the symbol of the lotus, as it is said: Just as a lotus grows from the mud, it is pleasing when it appears in front, but the joy disappears from behind, and the joy of clinging to light is the same. How then are they mixed inseparably? They are not the same entity, nor is it possible for different substances to mix into one. From the point of view of characteristics, they are also very different, so they are definitely not mixed into one. What then? For sentient beings, the very nature of purity, appears as naturally pure, yet it does not appear; the action of purification is done to sentient beings themselves, yet it is not done, because the seed of habit itself manifests magical displays, and also performs its actions. Therefore, in conventional sentient beings themselves, the naturally pure and the seed have become indistinguishable. Ultimately, the seed of habit has never existed from the beginning, so in terms of state, it is neither existent nor nonexistent. The naturally pure, together with habit, resides in the primordial body. The so-called primordial body is the manifestation of the pure mind with the seed, appearing as the clarity of wind. The characteristic of that clarity is that it has the ability to appear as the body of all three realms, samsara and nirvana, and in reality, it appears as whatever condition awakens it. Such a body and mind, inseparable, is pervaded by the equal mixture of the three qualities of the mind of enlightenment, which is the white part; the dust, which is the red part; and the darkness, which is indicated by the symbol of the immovable mind. Here, the words "ornament" and "embraced" are merely rhetorical ornaments, meaning that they possess those qualities. These rhetorical ornaments are also called the ornament of samadhi. It is like the first Buddha.
