It is merely clinging to the feeling of pleasure, without seeing the nature of reality. Here, when pleasure arises, a feeling of happiness emerges in the mind, and everything that appears is filled with that pleasure, presenting a single sensation. However, in this state, one fails to see that all objects of perception are illusory and like a magical illusion, which is not the pure method of uniting bliss and emptiness. To achieve the union of bliss and emptiness, one can use the wisdom arising from thought and the wisdom arising from meditation. On the basis of pleasure, which is the object to be refuted, one can refute the clinging to the characteristics of elaboration, which are the clinging to the self of person and the self of phenomena, thereby generating a definite understanding. However, this is not absolutely necessary for everyone. Here, some people mix non-conceptualization of pleasure with the view of study and contemplation, presenting it as a unique instruction that no one else has, and they speak of their experiences and write them down. This is not appropriate for three reasons: it is not the most supreme instruction; it does not serve the purpose of teaching students; and it does not distinguish between the three aspects of study, contemplation, and meditation, making it difficult to practice. First, what is this view of study and contemplation that you speak of? Is it something not taught in the scriptures, or is it something that is taught but is very hidden, only clear in the oral tradition? Or is it the very view that is directly taught in the scriptures? If it is the former two, then it is necessary to provide the corresponding scriptural and logical proofs. If it is a meditation based on analysis, then it must thoroughly eliminate extreme views through other logical proofs and have a supreme advantage in terms of necessity and ability. If it is a settling meditation, then is one settling the mind on pleasure itself, or is one meditating on something else? If it is the former, how can it be considered a view of study and contemplation since it does not rely on scriptural and logical proofs? That alone is not the most supreme instruction. If one is merely settling the mind on the idea that "pleasure is not the ultimate truth," then one is merely clinging to a name. If one establishes it through scriptural and logical proofs and meditates on it, then it is the same as the previous case. Furthermore, such a meditation on the union of bliss and emptiness is common even among beginners in the Vajradhara lineage, so how can it be said that it is something that others do not have? Secondly, when you say that "this is also a method of teaching students," what kind of teaching is it? Is it like the explanations of the tantras and great accomplished masters? Or is it like the teachings of the gurus of the lineage that one follows? If it is the former, then such a method of meditating on emptiness is common.

It is unreasonable to say that it is preached to the assembly. According to the second statement, explaining the condensed content of the Abhisamayalankara is called "assembly preaching," and explaining the detailed content of the treatise is called "student preaching," which does not establish any necessary function. Your thoughts are only about whether the preaching is good or bad. Because you are attached to the assembly and student preaching, you think that explaining the treatise should also be divided into these two types, and that assembly preaching is just a pile of words, so it is not necessary to grasp the essence, and that assembly and student are two different chariot tracks, etc. These are not the actions of the wise, but only make the unlearned fools feel surprised. The third point is to mix the views of hearing and thinking. Are both mixed, or are they mixed separately? According to the first statement, it would lead to two simultaneous conceptualizations. If mixed with hearing, although it is related to wisdom, because it follows the scriptures, when comfort arises, the scriptures must be remembered, which will produce a strange sect. If you need the wisdom of thinking, then you must think that this is the ultimate destination of meditation and oral instructions. If so, then you should not speak. If you say it, that's great, you can examine it extensively. If you just think that this is not true, then this is just the speculation of consciousness, and cannot become the wisdom of obtaining certainty. If you do it in turn, it will lead to two faults. For the definite understanding obtained through observation and meditation, the meditation-born (wisdom) is very large, and even if the wisdom born of hearing and thinking and the wisdom born of meditation do not have a common basis, those mantra practitioners who do not realize this and do not take it to heart, even if they are guided by (false) thoughts, cannot satisfy their inner needs, but are just empty talk, and cannot establish a solid foundation for the sect. If you abide in non-conceptual bliss, how can the definite understanding guided by hearing and thinking arise? The word "hearing and thinking" is just boasting, and those lamas whom you consider reliable also say that this view is poisonous, so all the faults here, let alone personal experience, are because there is no oral instruction from the lama, but only verbal debate, and the fault of mistaking a rough understanding for experience. Enough of the elaboration. The fourth point is, therefore, recognize that the nature of the mind is great bliss. Second, there are three ways to accomplish it: directly explain the method, and
