Chapter. First, compare with this so that the following can also be understood. As long as one cannot fully grasp worldly samadhi and all the meanings heard, that is the second bhumi. The third bhumi is called the Radiant Bhumi because it emits a great light of the sacred Dharma to oneself and others. Realization is the supreme meaning of the homogeneous cause. Knowing that the scriptures and the Dharmadhatu arise in mutual dependence, the scriptures are the homogeneous cause of the Dharmadhatu, therefore, one highly values hearing, and is even willing to offer in fire for the sake of a single verse. Mainly practicing meditation and clairvoyance, the fruition is Indra, and one obtains a hundred thousand times the merits, mainly practicing patience. As long as one cannot completely abandon the mind and maintain complete equanimity due to absorption and craving for the Dharma, that is the third bhumi. The fourth bhumi refers to the fact that here one mainly meditates on the limbs of enlightenment, and the light of enlightenment burns the thickets of the two obscurations, so it is radiant. It is said that both the third and fourth bhumis will have signs of red light appearing and spreading widely. Realization is the absence of grasping, because one has understood the wisdom of non-proliferation, is free from the grasped and the grasper, and has obtained the limbs of enlightenment, so one no longer burns the sutras and other dharmas. The fruition is the Unconquerable King, and one obtains hundreds of millions of merits, mainly practicing diligence. As long as one cultivates the four truths and the mind tends towards and manifests a tendency towards samsara and nirvana, and one cannot constantly cultivate the limbs of enlightenment supported by skillful means, that is the fourth bhumi. The fifth bhumi refers to doing things that benefit sentient beings, and guarding one's own mind without wavering, not being distracted by opposing factors, doing difficult things, so it is called the Very Difficult to Train Bhumi. In this bhumi, one comes to practice the four truths in detail, and realization is the realization of non-duality, realizing the purity and equality of mind and thought with ten equalities. The fruition is the king of the gods of Tushita, and one obtains ten trillion merits, mainly practicing the perfection of meditation. As long as there is weariness with samsara, and one cannot abide without characteristics in equipoise as one wishes

Until one cannot abide in the absence of characteristics, that is the fifth ground. The sixth ground is called Manifestation because the nature of samsara and nirvana being equal is manifested, or it is called Manifestation because it clearly inclines towards the Dharma of the Buddhas. On this ground, dependent origination is mainly meditated upon. What is realized is the understanding that it is not entirely defiled or entirely purified, because the nature of the Dharmadhatu is naturally luminous and naturally pure. It is realized that none of the phenomena of defilement and purification have ever been established from the beginning. Its fruition is that the king of the gods of the Joyful Paradise transforms into a Well-transformed one, obtaining twelve kotis of hundreds of thousands of qualities. Mainly practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. As long as one cannot abide in the absence of characteristics in all circumstances, that is the sixth ground. The seventh ground is called the Gone Afar Ground because it is connected without interruption to obtaining the great forbearance of non-arising on the one path, and it has gone far beyond characteristics and effort. On this ground, one enters into cessation for a single instant. What is realized is the understanding of the meaning of non-difference, that is, the characteristics of the Sutras and other Dharmas being different is not established. Its fruition is that the king of the gods of the Control Emanation Paradise transforms into a Controller, obtaining twelve kotis of hundreds of billions of qualities. Mainly practicing the Perfection of Means. As long as one cannot abide in the absence of characteristics spontaneously, that is the seventh ground. Moreover, up to the sixth ground, one is mixed with characteristics against one's will. Although the seventh ground does not have that, abiding in the absence of characteristics is still with effort. In general, although one is not mixed with characteristics, when effort is abandoned, one becomes prone to being mixed with conceptual thoughts of characteristics. After obtaining the eighth ground, conceptual thoughts of characteristics never arise, and it is spontaneously accomplished without effort. Thus, the seventh ground has pure higher intention and is called the Immaculate Seventh Ground. It is the completion of the accumulation of the second countless eons. The eighth ground is called the Immovable Ground because one does not have the thought of accepting or rejecting any phenomena with or without characteristics, and one does not waver from meditative equipoise. On this ground, purifying the Buddha-fields is mainly practiced, and one obtains the great forbearance of non-arising Dharmas.
