Firstly, it is thinking that whatever is asserted by philosophical tenets, whether examined or unexamined, is acceptable. That is to say, although it is said that the clinging to a self in the consciousness and the clinging to the other four aggregates as belonging to a self occur, this is done mainly in terms of the principal meaning. In reality, both the clinging to a self and the clinging to what belongs to a self occur in dependence on all five aggregates. For example, saying "I see form" is clinging to a self in the consciousness, and saying "I am suffering" is in relation to feeling, and thinking "I think this is good" is in relation to perception, and saying "I hear and remember" is in relation to compositional factors, and "aging is me," "I am being hit," and so forth, are clinging to the form aggregate. In the case of innate clinging, there is the clinging to permanence in thinking "I crossed this river before and came," and the aspect of oneself being alone and separate from others, and the six sense sources, and the idea of permanence, singleness, and independence in thinking "I am in control" with regard to place, body, and possessions. Therefore, it is not reasonable to say that the clinging to a self that is permanent, single, and independent is only conceptual imputation. Secondly, it is the clinging to truth, which is clinging to anything as being established by valid cognition. Secondly, the clinging to what belongs to a self is a part of the clinging to a self of a person, and it occurs in dependence on all phenomena, internal and external, such as "my eye" and so forth, which is the form aggregate, and "my happiness," which is feeling, and "my thoughts," which is perception, and "my wisdom," and so forth, which is compositional factors, and "my unclear consciousness," and so forth, which is consciousness, and "my wealth," and so forth, from wealth to places and possessions, and even to the unconditioned, there is clinging to "the space in my direction," and so forth. In order to abandon these, it is necessary to meditate on the two selflessnesses. Thirdly, establishing selflessness. Firstly, the selflessness of a person is that in conventional truth, when examining what is called a sentient being, there is no established "I." If there were, it would have to be either one with or different from the aggregates. If the self were one with the aggregates, then the self would become momentary and subject to arising and ceasing, or there would be many selves, or the aggregates would become one. If the self were the body, then each of the five elements and six sense sources would not be the self. If they were, there would be many selves. If there were many, then everything would mutually regard each other as the nature of others, and the nature of the self would be lost. In the absence of the limbs, the self is not found elsewhere. If the limbs and flesh and blood are separated, and if one examines whether or not each aggregate is the self,
