The actual way of receiving. First, if the precepts of a Bodhisattva are classified, there are three precepts, namely, "precepts are," and so on. Among them, the precept of abstaining from misdeeds is to abstain from the sins and non-virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind, such as the seven types of individual liberation precepts. The nature of abstaining is to abandon the ten non-virtuous actions of the three doors, and each one is divided into completely abandoning, abandoning a part, abandoning a large part, temporarily abandoning, abandoning for as long as life lasts, abandoning oneself, causing others to abandon, rejoicing in abandoning, and praising abandoning. Thus, with the classification of ten tens, there are a hundred classifications of abstaining from misdeeds, which was said by the noble Asanga. This is the basis of the latter two precepts and the meaning of the mind abiding. The precept of accumulating virtuous dharmas is to focus on virtuous dharmas such as the six perfections, newly generate them in one's own mindstream, and prevent the generated ones from deteriorating, which is the action of maturing one's own mindstream. The precept of benefiting sentient beings is to focus on sentient beings and accomplish benefits and happiness for them without fault, which is the action of maturing others' mindstreams. Steadfastness means not contradicting what is to be learned. Second is "how," and so on, that is, "victor" refers to when one previously became a Bodhisattva. The so-called "resolve and vow" means from resolve to vow, abiding in the Bodhisattva's training. The so-called "like the protector" means like the protector, that is, the previous actions of the Buddhas. Ninth, in terms of relying on the path, there are two types: the common path and the uncommon path. The first type includes two selflessnesses, two roots, four immeasurables, six perfections, thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, four ways of gathering disciples, and the two, shamatha and vipashyana, which are the seven antidotal dharmas, as well as the ten non-virtuous actions, the five obscurations of meditation, and the five faults, which are the three categories of what is to be abandoned. The first is "I and," and so on. The second is "emptiness," and so on. The third is "loving-kindness," and so on. The fourth is "giving," and so on. The fifth is "mindfulness," and so on. The sixth is "giving," and so on. The seventh is "shamatha and vipashyana," and so on. The eighth is "constantly," and so on. The ninth is "excitement," and so on. The tenth is "laziness," and so on.

Then, why not rely on the classifications of what is to be abandoned by the paths of seeing and meditation, and the nine successive abidings, etc.? Because in the Yoga Tantras and below, those are also needed. But in this unsurpassed vehicle, the classifications of what is to be abandoned are also different, so they are not very necessary. With this path, in order to accomplish the qualities of samadhi and clairvoyance, etc., meditation, etc., are not needed, and those meditations and form aggregates are deviations from this path. The meaning of explaining the four meditations in the common vehicle is that in this path, there are the four joys, four emptinesses, and four luminosities. Therefore, because those are not very necessary, they are not mentioned here. Then, what is the reason for abandoning the ten non-virtues, and explaining the two, calm and insight, and the five faults, etc., mixed with the mantra path? This is in terms of the order of the path. After obtaining the mantra vows, becoming proficient in the union of the mantra tantras, and abandoning the ten non-virtues in practice, when practicing the two stages, it is necessary to accomplish calm and insight. For this, it is necessary to abandon the five obscurations, and in order to abandon the five faults of calm abiding, it is necessary to rely on the eight applications of mind, so it is explained at that time. Like this, the detailed classifications of those common paths must be heard and thought about in the great treatises of the Sutra side, without letting the mind wander outwards, and must be very familiar. Here, for those who initially enter the secret mantra, I will briefly say some easy-to-understand recitations. Among the previous ten, the first has three aspects. The first is to identify the two extremes: holding things to be permanent is the extreme of permanence, and holding something that previously existed to have later disappeared is the extreme of annihilation. This is the classification of permanence and annihilation when explaining the temporary meaning. The ultimate is, as it is said: "Saying 'exists' is grasping at permanence, saying 'does not exist' is looking at annihilation, therefore, in existence and non-existence, the wise should not abide." Therefore, whatever is held to exist is the extreme of permanence; whatever is held to not exist is the extreme of annihilation. Later distinguishing between grasping at existence and the extreme of existence, etc., is slandering the noble Nagarjuna as not knowing how to write treatises. The second is to identify self-grasping, there are two: grasping at self and grasping at what belongs to self. The first is further divided into two: grasping at the self of a person and grasping at the self of phenomena.
