It is also said, "Mdzod." Alternatively, being free from names and so on refers to the wisdom of bliss and emptiness, etc. Because it transcends the realm of speculation, it is called being free from names and so on. In order to accomplish that (wisdom of bliss and emptiness), if one has the wrong thought that "this does not seem to be a pure path" regarding the Dharma of generation and completion stages, then the meaning of this, if it exceeds two time periods, is a root downfall. This is also similar to the ninth distinction. Some say that once the view of emptiness is attained, it must be continuously cultivated. If it is not cultivated even once in a day, then that is this downfall. Although it is said, it still needs to be examined. Jñānaśrī quoted a statement that eliminates the two extremes. Since the secret mantra practitioners say that the view of emptiness must be constantly cultivated, the time period based on the day is also not reasonable, and the reason why this becomes a root downfall must be explained first. Therefore, the views of the predecessors are the same as what was said above. First, it has the source of many reliable tantra commentaries, and secondly, it also agrees with the view of the Great Commentary on the Kalachakra, and it is said that even Padmasambhava explained the vows in this way. In the Vajra Heart Ornament Tantra, it says, "To conceive of emptiness as extreme." Therefore, some rely on ultimate emptiness and thus slander conventionality. That is, if one clings to the wrong view that "all dharmas are emptiness, therefore there is no karma and result," then according to the previous time period, it is a root downfall. Thus, the meaning of this tantra is explained in the commentary "Line of Liberation" as follows: The Bodhisattva who accomplished all meanings, meditating on the profound extreme on the banks of the Nairanjana River, was stopped by the Buddhas, and the Great Bliss was taught. Therefore, it is meaningless for that tantra to have wrong views, so here, is it because of disrespect for the Great Bliss of mantra that one holds the emptiness of the sutra system as superior? For this unsurpassed yoga, the view of emptiness, whether it is the Madhyamaka or Yogacara system, is what the wise ones say. If it is aimed at beginners, then it is reasonable to say so. The twelfth is: the object is a sentient being with faith, that is, one who seeks the meaning of the Vajrayana. For those who seek the meaning of the Hinayana and Paramitayana, it will obviously become an antidote to downfall. Therefore, for that object, whether the behavior of body and speech is gentle or harsh

Whatever the case, as long as it is initiated to prevent the minds of others, doing this and that, that is, if aversion arises to entering the mantra dharma, then as soon as aversion arises, it immediately becomes a root downfall. The former great masters considered that according to the difference in aversion to the three vehicles, there are three types of downfalls: large, medium, and small. Although it is not a real root downfall, if it is counted as belonging to the downfall here, there is no contradiction. There are two types of bodily conduct: one is to show one's own bad behavior, and the other is to beat that place, etc. There are two types of speech: the mantra practitioner says that other paths are better, or that now is not the time to practice mantra, or that this mantra has great benefits and harms, etc., which is a gentle saying; like "A person like you does not even have a share in the Hinayana, let alone talk about mantra," etc., rude scolding is a rude saying, these are two types. Also, disguising something that is not Vajrayana as Vajrayana, or when wanting to generate the generation stage, preaching the completion stage, etc., thereby deceiving others, if this causes others to develop distrust in the Dharma and people, thereby generating aversion, then it will become a root downfall here. If it is considered that that person is not a vessel for that path, or like quarreling and fighting in the Sangha, etc., which are prohibited behaviors, then the wise ones consider that there is no fault. In the Kalachakra it says that this refers to blaming pure sentient beings, i.e., yogis; true close practice is to slander pure sentient beings, i.e., the sun. It also says that even if they know they are yogis, they are also slandering heretics, Shravakas, those who have entered into conduct, and those who hold scattered conduct. The thirteenth is that some people think it includes all the upper and lower downfalls, which is unreasonable and easy to understand. What is said here about not having received the empowerment of the vajra bell, etc., is because they are not good at distinguishing between the vows that should be accomplished and the vows that should be abandoned. In the Great Commentary on the Kalachakra it says that the special feature of this root downfall is that it is combined during the time of the assembly wheel, do not speak of the yoga tantra and common idle talk. So what should be done? The Ornament of Essence says that according to what is said in the treatises on desire, the enjoyment of both should be blessed, and the words of vows should be spoken to each other, coming with a joyful mind, and if abandoned, the root will decline. Also,
