When a vowel is placed above a bindu, it becomes Oṃ. Similarly, when two "a" letters and a voiceless "ha" are placed, the similar letter becomes long, and the other side is also distinguished. Thus, two short "a"s become one long "a," and a voiceless "ha" becomes a separator. Where does the separator "ha" come from? Although it does not appear in the grammatical treatises existing in Tibet, it seems to exist in others. In the oral tradition of the Indians, the separator only produces the sound of "ha." The voiceless "ha," and the voiceless "u" and "ma," direct the consonant to the letter on the other side. Thus, combining "ha" and "u" becomes the letter "hu," and adding a nasal sound after "ma" becomes "hūṃ." Combining these internally: The basis for collecting mantras, the vowels and consonants, are the breaths within the channels, residing in the sounds of the vowels and consonants. The method of collecting them is explained in detail in the Vajra Garland. In brief, the tantra itself says: "The letter 'a' resides in the Dharma wheel lotus, pervading the wind wheel. This alone is the great wind, gathering all that is called life." This refers to the sound of the life-sustaining wind arising from the short "a" in the heart. "The letter 'u' resides in the enjoyment wheel, like fire and the sun, from the throat to the crown of the head, pervading the body of splendor." This refers to the upward-moving wind traveling from the throat to the crown with the sound of the letter "u." "It resides in what is called the great bliss wheel. The letter 'ma' is only like a bindu, the size of a thumb is twelve digits, residing within the king's crown." The position measured twelve digits outward from the eyebrow. The bodhicitta bindu resides at the center of the crown wheel. Therefore, the breath of the heart, which has the sound of "a," mixes with the breath of the throat, which has the sound of "u," becoming the sound of "oṃ." The breath of the bindu of the crown goes to the position of the heart, becoming "oṃ." This is how the breath comes in. The letter "u" appearing in the throat does not contradict the common belief that the letter in the throat is "oṃ," because the merit of the letter "oṃ," the letter "oṃ" plus the letter "oṃ," becomes the letter "au." Therefore, in some versions of the Vajra Garland, it says: "The letter 'oṃ' resides in the enjoyment wheel." Such a statement is not incorrect. The letter "a" has been explained before. Life.

It is said that "wind is supreme." Thus, the wind in the heart is the same as the letter A. A comes from the lotus of the Dharma wheel, and in the throat, it transforms into two A's. Life force and downward cleansing, from all the Ha letters, are bound because they reside in the center of the throat. It is said that the wind above the throat goes to the heart and stays there. Because it is connected to the short A in the heart, it becomes the sound of A. The fundamental life-sustaining wind is connected to the sound of A, and it becomes the sound of long A. There, a part of the downward cleansing wind stays, and because it has the sound of the letter Ha, it becomes very intense, transforming into the sound of Āḥ, which is when the wind stays. Also, Ha is the wind called downward cleansing, residing in the center of the hidden anus. The letter U is the upward-going wind, residing in the center of the lotus of the throat. The letter Ma is the life wind, in the wheel of wind on the forehead. Those unite in the heart and are called the seed of the heart. It is said that the sound of downward cleansing Ha spreads from the heart to the wheel of wind between the eyebrows. Life transforms into the sound of Ma. Its meaning is that the life-sustaining wind mixes with the bindu of the crown, transforming into the sound of the letter Ma, and its stream runs between the eyebrows. When the upward-going also goes upward, it goes with the sound of long U. Those gather and become the letter Hūṃ. When the downward cleansing wind mixes with the upward-going in the throat, it becomes the letter Hūṃ, and when it reaches the crown, it mixes with the sound of the life-sustaining Ma, becoming Hūṃ, which is when the wind goes out. This is what the teacher Alankakalasha said. Now, as the learned ones of the Holy Land explain, most of the Vajra recitation of Hevajra is that the wind comes in as Oṃ, stays as Āḥ, and goes out as long Hūṃ, which appears to be according to the custom of the Holy Land school, so it is explained that way. Guru was in front of Rabaṇaśrī, and when collecting the mantras of the Vajra Garland, he asked for explanations according to the direct instructions of the Holy Land school. That is very much not entering the meaning of the letters, the wheel of wind pervades, etc., only explaining that the wind goes out. Therefore, the oral instruction here appears as Oṃ when entering, Āḥ when staying, and Hūṃ when combining with the meaning of the tantra.
